China Glaze: Up & Away Collection Swatches

Today I have swatches of new China Glaze Up & Away collection for you. Please, excuse my dry hands and ridges ... there wasn't enough time for me to apply base coat - the sun sets really soon this time of year. ;)

As I already said: I'm only wearing ChG colors on my nails. No base coat, no top coat.

Sugar High (described as petal pink): I don't know what's petal pink supposed to look like, I'd call this color Barbie Neon-ish. =) It's really bright - just what I've been looking for.

Something Sweet (described as cotton candy): This one sure is super sweet! And you know what? It DOES remind me of a cotton candy. =)

Re-Fresh Mint (described as spearmint): Spearmint? Like chewing gum? 'Cause the plant isn't this shade of green. I don't want to think about this color as a chewing gum color. It's too beautiful for that. If there would be Tiffany green (as For Audrey is Tiffany blue) then this would be it! My first impression when I put it on was: ''WOW, WOW, WOW''! Adorable!

Peachy Keen (described as nectar): I can almost smell those sweet apricots that used to grow by our house. This one took me back to my childhood. =) Do I need to say more? I probably won't wear it a lot, but it will always have a special place in my stash. Looking for a ''salmon'' color? Here you have it!

Light As Air (decribed as periwinkle): I think this one doesn't have enough blue to call it a periwinkle. In my opinion it's more like a very, very light lavender. On the other hand, what do I know. =) Name is perfect for this one. Light and likeable!

Lemon Fizz (decribed as banana): You mean banana yellow? =)) This one doesn't remind me of anything... Maybe because I don't like yellow. At all. But I think that might change soon. ;)

High Hopes (described as guava): This guava must have grown by the buclear plant. It's so bright, it's almost neon.

Heli-Yum (described as raspberry): This color looks a lot deeper in real life. Definitely something new in my collection of nail polishes. I guess this one is one of the must haves of the collection.

Happy Go Lucky (described as sunshine yellow): It's bright and it's yellow - it's sunshine yellow. My mom said I shouldn't look at the sun. =)

Grape Pop (described as bright plum): It's not actually bright. It's a beautiful, deep purple, that doesn't look black in low light. I think I said it all! Love, love, love!

Four Leaf Clover (described as kelly green): It doesn't look so blue IRL. It is what it says - kelly green. It's also gorgeous! Another must have.

Flyin' High (decribed as teal): Teal, dusty turquoise... It doesn't matter, it's beautiful either way.

I can't say it's a surprise, but the formula is GREAT! All of the shades are very pigmented and you don't need more than 2 coats. The application is very easy and smooth. Especially Heli-Yum and High Hopes apply like in a dream.
I already had my favourites when I saw the promo pictures, but when I saw these in person - WOW! Well, I'm not the best person to say this to you, since I love cremes and I obviousely love China Glaze, but you NEED to try at least one of this shades. I bet you'll fall in love with the formula and application...and colors!

This one is a winner creme collection China Glaze!

P.S.: I'll compare these shades with some other shades tomorrow!

Thanks for looking!

  10. I agree with you on this one.

  11. Peachy Keen is a bit pink-ier IRL, but if you don't like it on the swatch pic, I doubt you'd like it at all.
Oh, yes...your choices are great! =)

  12. I'm glad I have every single one of them. I liked 8 of them on promo pics, but IRL I like them all.

  13. Hope you'll get them!

  14. I thought I wouldn't like the yellow ones...boy I was wrong. =)))

  15. =) Sorry, Maestra! No rum, no money...but there will be China Glaze! =)

  16. Well, I don't own Miley, so this might not be true, but I think they're quite different. Miley looks more blue-ish and it's jelly like. Light as Air is warmer and very opaque cream. I guess we should ask someone who owns them both...
Also, if you like LAA, I'd get it if I were you. The formula is so great and it only needs 2 coats.

  25. You're a sweet-heart for swatching these in one go~ Thank you!
Lemon Fizz, Light As Air & Something Sweet are too pale for me and I'm not crazy about High Hopes.
The rest- They will be mine when available!!!

Your nails look lovely as ever :)

  26. First of all I think all of them are gorgeous and as far as your review and Scrangie's the formula, the pigmentation, and the application is great so that is definitely a must have collection, I love them all!!! I have a question, how is it that you get to own it first if it hasn't come out yet?
Sorry I'm new in this and I don't know how it works...!

  27. I loved the promo pics but not as much I love your swatches. Peachy keen, Heli-yum, Four leaf clover and Flyin' high are my favorites. But in general I like all of them.

  28. Hey, thanks so much for posting!! Do you happen to know how Flyin High compares to Shower Together?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I also have this by ChG, groovy green, so torn between ordering almost same polishes, I have too many already :((

  30. My favourite? Uffff...I'd say... Re-Fresh Mint. And Sugar High... and Four Clover Leaf... and Something Sweet... and all of them! =)

    ReplyDelete
  31. You're welcome, Zaz! =)

    ReplyDelete
  32. China Glaze sent them to me, so I can try them out. That's why I got them sooner. =) And yes, it's a wonderful collection!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm sure you'll like them, not only colors, but the formula too.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hey, Nisha! I posted a comparison of Flyin' High & Aqua Baby. I don't have Shower Together, but it's supposed to be a dupe of Aqua Baby, so there you have it! :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. This one looks VERY much like Re-Fresh Mint. I'd have to see them both IRL to say, but they might be dupes. =)

    ReplyDelete
  36. You are a very lucky lady =) It looks like I'm getting... Well, ALL.

    ReplyDelete
  37. lol indeed and they're even the same brand :O

Just a couple of days ago I thought, I didn't have to buy any more nail polishes because I have all of the shades that can be done.
A day after that, I saw Chnia Glaze's Up And Away collection.
I need more than half of the nail polishes from this collection.
    Well done China Glaze!
Thank you Nihrida for the lovely swatches on this blog.
Your swatches are more accurate than other's swatches.
    Your pets are wonderful!

  39. These polishes are all so gorgeous looking. I really want the greens. They all look so pretty on you. They just look like Spring. Wish it was coming tommorow! It's so cold and rainy. I'm so happy I don't live in Colorado. I don't like to have to drive or walk in snow. It does look beautiful. Thanks for your swatching sweetie. Love ya.

  40. =) I know I'm lucky...

  41. =))) As I already said. This collection amazed me on promo pics, but when I got them...WOW! =)
Well, thank you so much! That means a lot to me. =)

  42. It could always be worse, right? We too do not have snow... It's kind of weird. Christmas is coming and there is no right Christmas without snow, IMO. The greens in this collection are pure winners. I especially love Re-Fresh Mint. Gorgeous.

  43. I like a lot the pink shades, they are gorgeous!
