Imaginary conversation:
Me: I know you won't admit it, but I bet that you (my dear reader), don't even know where I'm from.
Reader: Yeah, I know. You're from Slovakia.
Me: Huh? *raise eyebrow* I'm from Slovenia.
Reader: Isn't that like the same thing.
Me: Noooo, it isn't.
Reader: Oh yeah, now I remember... That's Yugoslavia, right?
Me: Yugoslavia doesn't exist anymore. It broke up when... You know what? Take a look at this video.
This is Slovenia!
What do you think? =) Wanna come and visit me?
EDIT: I don't want to insult anyone with the imaginary conversation above. I just want you to meet my lovely country. =) And since it's so small, I don't blame you if you didn't know where it was. ;)
Thanks for looking!

Great video. x) I love Bovec, Soča ... <3
ReplyDeleteSoča is the best!
ReplyDeleteWow! Its really beautiful over there. I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteI know where you live. Well, the country I mean, not in the creepy 'I know where your house is and stand outside in the bushes looking at you at night' sort of way. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut I'm in Europe so that's probably cheating a bit.
I'm packing my bags right now!!!
ReplyDeleteHeck yeah, that's awesome! Completely gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteso pretty! *closes eyes and whispers "someday I'll go to Europe"* and throws penny in wishing well
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this. I'm typically American; very ignorant of other countries.
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly, I did not know much about Slovenia until earlier this year. This summer I got to know a very nice Slovenian man; I hope I can visit him soon ;) From what I've seen in pictures and video your country looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat! My friend is a huge fan of Ljubljana! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not happy when someone tells me Lithuania and Latvia is "the same thing", or "is in the USSR"! Lithuania is Lithuania! :)
I understand you :) I have heard a lot of times that I live in Czechoslovakia even from Europeans :D
ReplyDelete=) You can always come to visit.
ReplyDeleteLOL =)))) Well, I think if you're European, you really should know all the countries. But that's just me. =)
ReplyDelete*waiting for Evil Angel* =)
ReplyDeleteNo wonder they decided to shoot some of the Narnia move here, right? :)
ReplyDelete=) Hope your wish comes true!
ReplyDelete=) I hope now you know where it is. ;)
ReplyDeleteI bet you'd love it here. =)
ReplyDeleteLOL =)
ReplyDeleteYep. That's sad.
ReplyDeleteSlovenia is beautiful! I've never been there but I'd like to visit someday :D
ReplyDeleteSlovenia seems so beautiful to visit! I love nature. Belgium (my country) does not have waterfalls! My husband watched the video with me and is amazed too by your country. Now I guess he's searching more information to travel to Slovenia :) Maybe we'll plan a trip soon. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us!
ReplyDeleteI have been to both Slovenia and Slovakia, but I must admit, my heart belongs to Slovenia. It was one of the best days of my life! Such a gorgeous country you're living in! =)))
ReplyDeleteSlovenia is a beautiful country! The mountains remind me of Norway. :)
ReplyDeleteyou're sooo lucky :(((
ReplyDeleteHi Nihrida: I know I'm an ignorant American, but I did know the difference between Slovakia and Slovenia! Believe it or not, the problem is our schools, which pay shockingly little attention to history and geography. However, I'm a big fan of both.
ReplyDeleteThat's one reason why I said I look forward to your blog, because of the pictures you've posted of where you live. I love them. I always love to see pictures of where someone lives outside the US.
Thanks for the video. I loved it.
Marsha
I loled. :D I actually knew you were from Slovenia, even though I think I've only read it once or twice on your blog. I giggled though, because when I tell people I'm from Sweden they somehow always go: "Oh, that's in Norway, right?". :p
ReplyDeleteCulturally rich you country! Beautifull landscapes!
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should swap. I'd love to see Finland. =)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful. =) I've been in Belgium and I love the houses there... I even made a friend there: labrador dog. =)
ReplyDelete=) If I remember correctly, you've visited Bled, right? It is a great place to visit. =)
ReplyDeleteNorway must be beautiful too... *sigh*
ReplyDeleteOh, come on! Croatia has all those gorgeous towns by the sea... Can't beat that.
ReplyDeleteOh, Marsha...I never said that you're ignorant. Well, we're so small, we need to know other countries. =)
ReplyDeleteSweden in Norway? LOL =) I've met a man from Sweden in high school (I think he was our english teacher for a couple of days), he told us about the landscape and Astrid Lindgren. =)
ReplyDelete=) Glad you like it.
ReplyDeleteyeah you can, its full of primates :( thats why we're not in the EU and everyone thinks we're all neandertals but there are some of us who aren't :((
ReplyDeleteYep, I visited Ljubljana and then Bled =) Truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this, your country is beautiful! I admit that all I know about Slovenia is that Anze Kopitar is from there and that there's a large mercury mine...an abandoned mining town about two hours away from where I live was named after Idrija.
ReplyDeleteHa! I do know Slovenia! I won't lie, it's because of my Eurovision addiction. That said, I would love to visit. It will happen one day!
ReplyDeleteI would love for you to visit my beloved Oregon. It's amazing.
I'm packing my bags, you'd better be waiting for me at the airport! LOL.
ReplyDeleteHey Evil Angel...Pick me up on your way! I wanna go too!
ReplyDeleteNihrida, Your country is GORGEOUS!!!!
Oh, that's some great knowledge! =) I'm so proud. Anze Kopitar, huh...hockey fan?
ReplyDeleteYou addicted to Eurovision, huh? *ashamed* Then you know all about our crappy music. *runs and hide*
ReplyDeleteI'll be the one with konaded nails!
ReplyDelete=) You can all come... there's enough tea for everyone.
