Hair Care HG's

I just washed my hair and figured it might be fun to share my hair care holy grail products. =)

If I had to choose and wash my hair with only one brand/type of shampoo for the rest of my life ... Head&Shoulders Sensitive would be my pick.
As you probably already know, my hair is long and curly. That's why I like to air dry my hair. That makes dandruff even worse and I simply can not imagine my life without H&S shampoo. It's the only one that really helps (for me) and believe me, I've tried a lot of different ones. H&S Sensitive all the way! =)

Combing my hair is close to a nightmare. Fortunately I found my HG brush and hair conditioner helps too. My pick is Balea conditioner with Pitaya & Magnolia. This is sold in Drogerie Markt stores and it's really cheap. But the important thing is that the quality is amazing. I love it!

Occasionally I apply hair mask. My favourite mask was Avon Planet Spa Olive hair mask, but I only bought it once, since they don't sell it in stores and that mumbo jumbo with buying Avon is just too much for me. I had to find the next best thing and found it in Schwarzkopf's Gliss hair mask. Every single one I've tried is very good, but the best one (in my opinion) is Total Repair.

Have you tried any of these (my HG) products? What do you think about them? I would also like to know which are your HG hair care products and what's your hair type. =)

Thanks for looking!

  1. I've tried the H&S Sensitive before! It really took care of my dandruff and the sensitive one makes my hair feel so soft!

I obviously don't have the second and third product available here but I have tried head&Shoulders and my hair doesn't like it.
I'm a Beyond the zone girl. My hair is naturally curly but I straighten it most of the time so on straight days I use Straight shot which I adore and at $4 a bottle it's not bad at all. When I let my hair do it's natural curl I uae Noodle Head because it's the only line that let's my curls shine without frizz and not be crunchy. lol
Hair masque oh yes love them to pieces but my favorite is straight coconut oil.

  3. Does air drying really make dandruff worse? I mainly air dry my hair and feel that my scalp is more irritated when I use a hairdryer and/or straighteners!

  4. Schwarzkopf ROCKS! I posted about their hair mask last week I think. I use it religiously, the moisture masque. It is the one thing I cannot live without. I am very rough on my hair (LOTS of chemicals, I change hair colors often, usually very dramatic changes). If Schwarzkopf ever goes under I will cry

  5. I have very long hair too down to my lower back. I use the large Tresemme` shampoo and conditioners here in New Zealand. Mainly because they are the lowest priced large sized bottles. Other than Pantene, our shampoos and conditioners are all in tiny bottles and I just go thru it too fast. So Tresemme` it is! I only wash my hair once every 3/4 days. I actually like my hair most about 2 days after a wash.

  7. At the moment I'm using Andrelon for curly hair.
My curls aren't natural. Before the curls I used L'Oreal.
I'm a big fan and addict of L'Oreal products, but sadly they don't have a shampoo for curly hair. They do have a shampoo for curls but that is to straighten them out and we don't want that ;-)

  8. I've never used a hair masque. I sometimes use Pantene shampoo and conditioner. I don't usually use anything special for my hair. I hate blow drying my hair. I have lightly wavy hair. It gets a little frizzy. I've been setting my hair lately on velcro rollers. I just use some mousse. Something not expensive. I bought some serum for my frizzies. Haven't tried it yet.

  9. As you know, my hair is really long too, but straight- straighter than a right-wing Christian from the deep American south! xD I like to switch shampoo every now and then, but in the wintertime I too depend on H&S sensitive for my dry, itchy scalp. It's not very environmental friendly, but it's the only shit that works. My favourite, affordable, hair mask is a Schwarzkopf too, the yellow one with argan oil, for long hair. If you haven't tried it, do so! :) When I feel like splurging, I get myself a jar of Kerastase Masqueintense for fine hair. That's my true HG hair mask! :)

  10. Head & Shoulders is awesome. I've only ever had one dandruff once in my life, but I still use it sometimes cause it smells so good & makes my hair feel super soft.

I've been blessed with ridiculously tough hair, it can take a beating & stay intact. I've been dyeing it black since I was 14, and last fall I bleached out all the black dye & dyed it bright orange. I had to bleach it 3 consecutive times, and I've dyed it probably 8-10 more times since then & it's still in good shape. I do have some breakage & it's a bit dryer than normal, but it's still thick & shiny. And I blowdry & flatiron daily too. Lol now that everyone hates me...

My HG shampoo is actually VO5, believe it or not. Plain ol' normal hair formula VO5. I can't stand to have greasy hair(I'm a bit OCD about it, actually), and VO5 gets all the oil out & doesn't leave buildup. Doesn't dry my hair out either. And it's only $1!

My HG conditioner has recently become Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist. I think this may be what saved my hair from breaking off after the intense beating it took last year.

HG leave in is Sunsilk Hydra-TLC. I think that also helped save my hair.

  12. Wow! I've never really thought about hair much, but maybe I should! :)

  13. Ditto! I like my soft hair after I use it, too.

  14. Your hair is curly? And you straighten it? Why?!?! I don't know any of the products you mentioned. Bummer.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes, because of the dampness of your scalp. I use ionic blow dryer and my hair is much better when I blow dry my hair with it compared to an old non-ionic blow dryer. Maybe you hold your blow dryer to close to your scalp and use too much heat.

  16. You get Schwarzkopf in US? =) I don't think it'll go down soon.

  17. Oh my, that's right. I forgot to tell how much I hate Pantene shampoo. I think Pantene might be the worst shampoo there is.
I don't know Tresemme... But I do too like my hair best the 2nd day after washing it. =)

  18. You're welcome! Hope it helps. =)

  19. I tried L'Oreal shampoos, but they always gave me dandruff... so no L'Oreal for me. And that other one (Andrelon)...I've never heard of it before. =)

  20. Expensive doesn't mean it's better. ;) But still - Pantene is one of the worst shampoos I've ever used. Gotta say it again. =)

  21. ROFL! =)))) I've only seen your photo on your twitter profile and you seem to be a hottie. =) Oh, yeah I tried that mask with argan oil too and it's awesome. I never tried Kerastase though. It's to expensive for me... I use tons of this stuff.

  22. You really must have some strong set of hair. =) I don't know that shampoo (VO5). *runs to google it*
It looks interesting. Unfortunately I won't try it, cause it's not sold here in Slovenia. I've heard a lot of good stuff about Aussie 3 MM but again, it's not sold here. :/

  23. i used to use head and shoulders all the time but it never really worked for me. tbh, no dandruff shampoo has ever worked for me! i need to wash my hair often to avoid dandruff, and it gets WAY worse in the winter. i have really thick, straight hair. right now ive been using selsun blue (first time trying it) and it works somewhat, a little. idk such a PITA

  24. I was wondering what products do you use to achieve such a gorgeous hair, I thought u must use some high-class shampoos and conditioners and treatments etc. but in contrary you use smple cheap products, quite interesting! How often do you cut your hair?

  25. I bought the Tangle Teezer after reading about it on your blog, and it's every bit as fantastic as you said! Brushing my hair after a shower used to be such a hassle, but with this brush it's a breeze! Amazing! I guess that'll have to be my haircare HG, then. ;)
My hair is blonde, straight and medium lenght.

  26. I'm a hair stylist. Its crazy expensive, but its one of my favorite brands of hair color and its only available in the professional stylist beauty supply houses. I don't mind paying 12 and 15 dollars for something that works so amazing though

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sorry to hear that. You should see a dermatologist, he might help you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks, cupcake! =) Expensive isn't always better. I think it's been over a year now...from the last time I cut them. I have to admit. I do not cut them regularly.

    ReplyDelete
  29. =) So glad to hear you found that information useful. And of course that you're happy with your TT. =)

  30. I have very thin and curly hair, with a bad lenght because I try to grow it and it's just over my shoulders :s
I try not to use too much chemicals products and silicones on my hair since one year, and it has never been better as now :)
I love products from Lush, especially solid shampoos. For the color, i use henna about every two months ^^

  31. really? u cut them so rarely? what about the split ends? ive heard women should cut their hair like every 6-8weeks

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes. When I wash my hair, I use almond oil on damp hair. It prevents hair from breaking and splitting. If you want to have long hair, cutting your tips so often won't get them long. You must stay away from the scissors and take good care of them. 'Cause once they start to split, they have to go. =)

  33. I also have solid Lush shampoos: Karma Komba and Godiva. They're quite good, I just hate the bits that tangle in my hair. =)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Karma is my boyfriend's shampoo and I don't like jasmine smell so Godiva is just not for me :( I use New Shampoo Bar, Ultimate Shine and Hard (but I don't really like the last one a lot)
