Nailene French Manicure

I received some products from Nailene so I could review them. One of the items was this French Tip Pen in Pearl Pink.

In order to see how it works, I had to do a french mani. Go figure! =)

So, this is a very simple tool. This are the steps you need to follow:
1) This step is optional: Apply tip guides. (I skipped this step.)
2) Actively shake the pen. Press tip onto a protected surface for 30 seconds until tip is saturated with polish. Apply two coats of Nailene's French Tip Pen to nail tips. Let dry. If you used tip guides, remove them gently.
3) Apply one or two coats of Nailene's Hard & Healthy base color polish over entire nail.

So, this were the items I used. I already had this Hard & Healthy polish and there's no name or number on it (it's sheer pink).

And here are the results:

My thoughts about Nailene French Tip Pen (in Pearl Pink): It's really easy to use and it doesn't make a mess. The tip is solid and once you master it, you can get really good results. I intentionally used this pen without guides and I'm quite satisfied with my application. Considering I *can not* do french tips without my Konad M19 plate. =)
The only thing that I didn't like about this pen is the color. I don't know why I was expecting it to be white, 'cause it does say ''pearl pink'' on the box... but still. Who does french manicure with pink color? And not only is the color pink, it's also pearly. Not my cup of tea.
I changed my mind after I applied Hard & Healthy polish. The tips were no longer pearly and pink tips look kind of cool. =) I'd definitely recommend this product. But I'd still rather buy it in white. ;)

I also got Nailene Nail Art Bedazzle SuperStar and here's one of the rhinestone stickers.

There are 4 sheets of rhinestone stickers in Bedazzle SuperStar. Here they are:

Thanks for looking!

  3. I'd be expecting white too, it's a tad too girly in pink (feel awful saying that because what's wrong with girly really, I'm usually a very girly girl). I've seen these types of pens but never tried them, and I probably wouldn't. But I can do a good job either free hand or using acetone and brush... I haven't got a Konad but I'm thinking I may have to get me one of those tho to try Wonder if I'll be all uncordinated with it tho - especialy trying to stamp my right hand... BTW, do you know why when I leave a comment here I show as Guest? When I have a blogger a/c and a blog and on others I show as myself? (wonders if this makes sense). I hate leaving comments that show me as guest because I like to be accountable online and show who I am.

  5. I actually really like the pink XD It reminds me of cotton candy or something, although I'm probably the only one.

So is the tip like a marker? Or like those LA Color things? *confused*

Oh and (cause I'm being a pain today) is there a way to get reply notices by email? You know, like how Blogger does it? Cause I can never remember to come back and read replies haha

  6. Interesting nail tip color :) , I have the white but a change can be fun.

  7. Well, then you don't need these mistake proof pens... if you're so good at doing it free hand. =) I'm sure you'd master Konad really soon and well, it's not that hard at all.
I really wouldn't know why it says Guest. Maybe you need to sign in... in my JS kit? Really don't know... Thanks for commenting!

  9. Oh, I guess I could post a photo of the tip. Well, here it is. =)

I don't know if there's a way to get notices by mail. Hmmmm... I really don't know how this thing works. *ashamed*

  12. I got those too from a PR, I still haven't tried this pen. But I do agree, I'd prefer it to be white :P

  13. hmmm... ne znam se odločit če mi je všeč roza konica ali ne :/
Super zadeva za tiste ki imajo probleme z delanjem ravne francoske, ampak sama še vedno najlepše naredim z prosto roko :)
Vsi ostali pripomočki (lističi itd.) me spravljajo v obup :P

  14. Hey...I have this pen, but have yet to try it.
Honestly, I really like this mani on you! The pink tip is far more interesting than the standard and very boring white tip.

Sasha you know me and I am the anti french mani, but I like the reversal in colors with the tips pink. It's pretty but not boring like the typical french and you Sasha are not boring or typical so I love this on you and I might even play with it myself.

  19. Not my most favorite manicure. You did a really nice job with it. I like a funky French not the white or pink. I like the gems on your nail.

  20. Wait until you try it! ;) You might like it like I did.

  25. What a great pen, seems a lot easier than using nail polish, it's difficult to get it even at times. I imagine this is faster too.
I also really love the sheet of butterflies and stars. What a great blog you have :)

  27. Nope, I don't like the combo in general and especially not on your nails. Don't get me wrong. You did a great job. It's nicely done. I'm just not used to see such colors on your nails. And with french. Oh my... You know, how I feel about french manicures. ;)
Can't wait to see color (and some nail art) on your beautiful nails! Maybe an olive green... ;) Give me some color, sweety! Pretty please! :*
(And I'm a total looser when I have to paint french tips free hand. :( Luckily, I don't like french. LOL)

  31. Thank you, Pascale! This time I did understand the french part. =)

  32. I think I'd rather use polish. I really don't like the look of the base colour though, it makes you look like you've got hypothermia! (maybe that's just the effect of the pink tips).

I think Nailene either need to go outlandish and give pink tips and a black base (for instance) or stay classic with natural looking pink and white. Don't try and mix them!

  33. I LOVE the stickers with the pearls!!!

  34. =) Could be. Everyone has different taste and I think it's good they've done something different. Some girls like it and if you don't, you can still buy the regular white one. =)

  35. Me not so much. I prefer the butterflies and stars.
