Skin MD Shielding Lotion Review

I got this lotion waaaaaaay back and I really took my time to test it. =) My review for Skin MD Shielding Lotion is finally here.

At first I thought this was a hand lotion and I was surprised to see that it can be used for hands, body *and* face. Since I'd never use a lotion that costs 18 USD for 120 mL just for my hands, I used it for my face too. Yeah, I'm that cheap. XD

Hands: It really is a lotion and not a cream. That means it's super light and it absorbs in a matter of seconds, leaving your hands soft and moisturized, but not greasy. Great for use at work or at home when you don't want to leave fingerprints and greasy marks all over the place. My hands weren't that dry to start with, so I didn't notice any special difference on my skin.

Face: The skin on my face is normal but it needs special care in the winter because the air is so dry indoors. I used Skin MD Shielding Lotion to moisturize my face before going to bed (after my evening routine - baby soap & facial tonic). I don't know why, but it stang on my face. That's why I didn't want to use it every couple of hours, so I only used it once a day. It did help my dry skin a bit, but it wasn't enough. Not for my ''winter'' skin.

This lotion is fragrance free, but when I used it on my face the scent of it reminded me of hospital... It's not strong and I don't think it would bother anyone though (I actually kind of like it). =)

Conclusion: I'd definitely recommend you to try this lotion, 'cause you never know how it might work for you. I think it's a great alternative to those greasy creams we're used to...but I'm not sure how it would work on someone with really dry skin. Maybe if you'd follow the instructions and apply it every 2-8 hours until your moisture level improves... and then use it every 12-24 hours.
I personally don't think I'd pay 18 USD for this and use it only for my hands. I'm a cheap hand cream person. =) I'm not to fond of the stinging sensation on my face...so that wouldn't be my first choice either. But who knows...I might be worshipping this product in summer. =)

PROS:
+ light texture
+ absorbs quickly
+ don't have to use large amounts to see the results
+ fragrance & colorant free
+ not tested on animals

CONS:
- stings (on my face)
- expensive

P.S. : I used the version without SPF!

Awww too bad it stung on your face. Maybe it didn't go well with the tonic...or your skin is just too dry. I didn't used to get so dry in the winter, I do now though. Looking forward to summer!
I would love to try this stuff too! elizabethallbright(at)gmail.com

  14. Ooh, I'd like to try this - I hate greasy hand creams as it puts me right off using them and I've read good reviews about how quickly this absorbs. Plus I never win giveaways, so here's hoping! :D
