So, as I already said: I got a wonderful package from Illamasqua. I didn't really expect it, because they have their own blog and they ''don't believe'' in this kind of advertisement. I respect that... but then I got this beautiful, edgy box of Illamasqua goodies! =)
All products are from the new Body Electrics collection for Spring/Summer 2010.
Don't you just love the Body Electrics promo picture? Biiiiijutiful!

Someone was also excited to open the box. Sorry Aishila, nothing for you in there...

I got:
* Nail Varnish in Jo'mina
* Illumine Oil in Pulse
* Liquid Metal Palette
* Bronzer in Writhe
I didn't expect to get so many goodiess. *faints*

I have one of the products to show you today. Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Jo'mina.

This color is amazing and I mean AMAZING. It's not your typical lilac shade. It's pastel, but so bright... really hard to capture on camera and hard to describe too. I have some lilacs in my collection, but most of them are really different from this one. This color is pure WIN. =)
Illamasqua, Jo'mina, 2 coats

I adore the color and the packaging, but there's a different story with the application. I'm not saying it's bad, 'cause that's not the case. It's just average, but on the good side. Not perfect though (you must be so confused right now). =D
Ok, here's the thing. I remember reading a review about their polishes and some girl (can't really remember whose review it was) said the formula is ''out of this world'', perfect and what not. I wouldn't agree with that, but it's a good polish nonetheless.
So, why don't I absolutely love it? It's a bit streaky. You can see it on my index finger. The opacity is good, so the polish only needs 2 coats, but because of the bald spots I'd have to apply another layer of polish.
In the sun:

In the shade:

Maybe the application isn't worth paying 13 GBP for, but the color definitely is. Did I already tell you, that I love this shade? =D
Well, that's all from me and Illamasqua for today. I'll show you the other products in the next few days. So, tell me: do you own any Illamasqua products? If so: do you love, like, hate it? Are you planning on getting Illamasqua? What products? Tell me! =)
Thanks for looking!

waw you're so lucky.. that stuff that you got is really amazing! and the polish is stunning.. <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI've got phallic& baptiste but they've been in my untried-stash (along with about ~150 other shades)... hope I can wear them soon
ReplyDeleteI love this polish, the shade is just gorgeous. I think the formula is really good, had no trouble with it :)
ReplyDeleteOh and please do the oil asap. I am so curious about it.
That is lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've been planning to order some Illamasqua for a quite a long time but I still haven't ordered... Don't know why, the products look super-nice!

ReplyDeleteStunning! This lilac is beautiful. I'd love to read about the other products you received!
ReplyDeleteaaaah - i am really jealous right now. this one is incredible (our liking seems to be kind of simmilar ^^)!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sexy box LOL
ReplyDeleteThat is really nice of Illamasqua. When I saw the promo pics I didn't have any interest in the polishes, but this one looks pretty!

We all love what you do for nails and np.
P.S. I so read the color of this as Jo-mama!! I need some coffee!! :-)
Your taste in nail color is simply superb! This is an incredibly beautiful color and looks stunning on you! Too cool.
ReplyDeleteThe polish is stunning Sasha....but picture #2 is tripping me out!!!
ReplyDeleteThe models face looks 3D...she looks like a nymph, btw. Anyway, she looks as if she's coming out of that flat piece cardboard. I seem to remember a music video from the 80s that worked an effect like that...can't remember the band or song.
Color is very nice and thnak you for your honesty, I'm really pissed off that more and more bloggers are not objective when they have things for free.
ReplyDeletemust have this color!
ReplyDeleteYou have an award in my blog!
ReplyDeleteI thought that box looked familiar but I've only ordered one thing from Illamasqua and I couldn't remember.
ReplyDeleteI have three Illamasqua polishes and they are all superb, but they are all dark polishes, Rampage, Baptiste and Phallic. And the Baptiste brush was slightly wonky, but I had to perform major surgery on it and now it's fine. I will probably only buy colos that are really unusual.
I would love to try the makeup but I have more makeup now than I will ever use so I probably won't be trying the makeup.
Enjoy your goodies!
I love the new polishes that are "bright pastels", so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAaaa enostavno krasna barva! Če se je kdaj naveličaš, se takoj priporočam ;)
ReplyDeleteomg loooove the color. and i'm so jealous your nails are seriously perfect!
ReplyDeletehehe it was probably me raving about Illamasqua...I am obsessed with them! :p
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous of your Illamasqua freebie as well!
I MUST get this colour! It's amazingly gorgeous... Also thank you for the comparison post -- it really does look unique. Can't wait until the polishes come to Sephora in the States, so I don't have to pay the huge overseas postage on top of the already high price though...
ReplyDeleteI agree with your comments about Illamasqua formula - I've also heard on other blogs about how legendary their formula is, but now I have around seven of their polishes and I don't think the formula is that great. They have good opacity, I'll give them that, but the formula isn't THAT great. Good, not great.
