Body is a Cage

It's written all over my face.

I'm like Rob Schneider in Hot Chick: '' I think I broke a rib, my eyes burn, I can't breathe... This is by far the worst day of my life.'' At least I didn't woke up a man, right? =)

I start my day with complaining. I'm sick, my head hurts... I feel like I'm gonna puke and so on.
I don't want to complain here too, so I would really appreciate your suggestions:
Which movie should I watch? It's been so long since I've seen a good movie. What would you recommend to me? It can be drama, comedy, thriller, fiction, horror...anything as long as it's good. Thanks in advance!

  2. 200 Cigarettes is a wonderfully ridiculous movie, but kind of hard to find. Hang in there, it will get better.

Marvin's Room is an Excellent Drama, Pieces of April is good too.
If you want comedy, I really enjoyed Tropic Thunder and Planes, Trains and Automobiles (an oldie but goodie)
Watch the Original Nightmare on Elm Street so you can compare the new one to it! :)
Hope you feel better soon lady. You're beautiful - it's true!

  6. One of my favorite dark comedies is Death to Smoochy. Recent movies that blew me away were also District 9 and Zombieland (first one is a think-y sci-fi, second one is a campy zombie movie).

And just so you know, a lot of us have been where you are and it sometimes does get better. We're all rooting for you out here but it's a hell of a tough road. :-/

  10. When I'm sad, I like to watch The Princess Bride to remind me that there's still good in the world... or else I watch The Dark Knight (I know, exact opposite end of the movie spectrum!). Hang in there, and have faith that you will eventually find the right combination of doctors and meds. :)

  11. When I'm sad I like to watch something just utterly stupid, like Howard the Duck or the Elvira movie. And I always recommend a Harry Potter marathon to chase away the sadz :)

  12. I think you should watch: You don't Mess With The Zohan (comedy).
    It is a hilarous movie!
I think what is good for depression is to travel. Try to do some sport, running is good. Usually I do pilates and it is working very well for me.
It is proven by doctors that sport is excellent at fighting depression.
My husband had this problem and as soon as he started doing sport, he wasn't depressed anymore. As for the nightmares you could try to move your bed to another spot. It worked for me. I hope this helps.
I hope you get well soon!

  13. I struggle with depression too. I love your blog so much, by the way. The movies that inspire and perk me up most are the original Star Wars trilogy and Kill Bill. I like movies where chicks kick butt. =)
    Keep your head up. <3

  14. How long are you supposed to live with these side effects? I agree with Andrea that Sinbad is so funny even though he talks a lot about the 70's, which is when I was young and foolish.

  15. a beautyful mind - it is some kind of a trigger to me, but i love that movie so much. and i don't like to watch cool action stuff or whatever, if i feel very sad and suffering. it doesn't catch my mind.

  18. You know what? LOtR and Harry Potter are the ones I love to watch when I'm down. But I prefer watching them on TV, 'cause I *have* to watch it... if I watch it on DVD or on my computer, then I can pause it whenever I feel like it and that's not good. Especially with my low concentration level. =)

  29. I've seen that one before, but I'll see it again, I guess. =) I'm going away for a few days and travel with my BF (only in Slovenia though)...did you just read my mind? =)
I agree that sport is a great anti-depressant. But there are 2 problems: I can't do much with my tachycardia + I'm so anti-sports person. Really! Gettin out of my bed is a sport for me. XD

  30. I hope you'll kick depression's ass! I just can't watch Star Wars. I tried several times and it just doesn't make any sense to me. XD But I do LOVE Kill Bill. It's one of my favourite of the favourite movies. =)

  31. I think these side effect should stop in a few days. At least I hope so. I can't remember for how long they lasted the last time, but they're stronger now. Now i really have to watch this Sinbad thing. =)

  33. My BF watches it ALL the time. =) I don't like it that much though. My to-go-to series is House.

  34. Oh, you and your Dexter. =) He doesn't float *my* boat. XD But I agree it's a good show. I'd let him take care of me.

  35. I feel that way today. I have to get out of myself. I'm playing Facebook games on one screen and doing blogs on the other. Soon I'll be watching some TV. My favorite things to watch when I'm down are old comedies. Really old ones like The Out-of-Towners with Jack Lemon and Sandy Dennis. Very funny. My favorite comedy of all time is another Jack Lemon movie, The Odd Couple. It has me crying while laughing so hard. Any Cary Grant movie is terrific also. I watch Turner Movie Channel which shows old movies. Hope your doing much better after your trip. Also lots of tight hugs help. Hugs and kisses to you.
