Movie Disappointments

I don't go to the movies too often. And when I go, it better be worth it. My BF wanted to see Iron Man 2 and since it was his birthday, I didn't want to bitch about it. =)

It would probably be a good thing if I actually saw the first movie about Iron Man. But I didn't. It doesn't really matter if a movie is good.
Robert Downey Jr. and Mickey Rourke did a *great* job, I have to admit that. Miss Paltrow wasn't bad either but Scarlett Johansson... huge disappointment no. 1. She can't act. Sorry, but in my eyes, she can't. And the movie itself was a huge mess. I loved the comic situations and both - good and bad guy characters, but the story and the movie itself - pure failure!

Thanks to Robert and Mickey I'd rate this movie with 3 movie clip boards.

As a huge Johnny Depp and Tim Burton fan, I had to see Alice in Wonderland. I wish I hadn't.
I was bored from the first minute of the movie right to the end. Boring story, gross and outrageous characters, boring dialogues, boring Alice. This movie literally made me anxious. The scenery and costumes were great, but that's it. I think I'd puke if I saw it in 3D. And die of a heart attack from all the grossness.
Alice in Wonderland is wrong in so many ways. I can't even think of showing this to little children. Huge disappointment.

It's not *that* bad, I just really dislike it.

Now I'm afraid to see Avatar...

  1. I saw Alice in Wonderland in 3D and that was pretty nice :) I don't like the story but the 3D effects were fun to watch! If I had to go to the movies and see AIW without 3D i wouldn't have gone...( it was in NYC, and this was the best movie :') ...)

I'm not a fan of hyped movies so I don't go to see Avatar. When I was in New York I already saw a second DVD of Avatar...aaarggghhhhh!!

  2. Alice in Wonderland is/was such a boring movie ._. I saw it in 3D and I simply didn't understand the story.

Avatar is an awesome movie, but you really have to watch it in 3D! *-*

Avatar is a visual experience in 3D. That is all. Expect nothing more and you might enjoy it. The story has been done a bazillion times in different ways so don't expect anything new. I heard there was a website that had the story of Pocahontas and John Smith and they simply crossed out those names and filled in with the lead characters from Avatar. Pretty much the same story, over and over and over. Visuals are pretty cool though.
I'll see Iron Man because I love RDJr, but I don't expect much more than a few hours of eye-candy. :)

  5. Iron Man was a good action film, but I've heard part II is a total mess. I think I'm going to pass completely. As for Alice, totally not worth my 9 euros. My eldest daughter really wanted to see it so I played along, but it was a major disappointment. Avatar? I'll wait to watch it on TV. Last year's best action film IMO was Star Trek. It totally blew my socks off. Great story and special effects.

  6. Ironman2 was *okay* I was expecting better since I loved the first movie.
I enjoyed Alice in Wonderland because I started watching it with low expectations. C'mon.... yet another Tim Burton movie with Johnny Depp and Henna Bonham-Carter. *yawn*. But I actually liked it.

Wanna so an awesome action movie? See Kick-Ass. It's an action/comedy. Best movie this year IMO.

  7. I just saw Kickass yesterday. It's something new and fresh, but I didn't like it at all. It was rather boring too. :/

  8. Aww I'm sorry you didn't like it!

  9. Ironman was MUCH better. Alot more humor, and since it the first, it was fresh.

  10. Well Avatar is just a horrendous, embarrassing mess with the worst script and storyline since -- oh I dunno, Showgirls, so don't bother or you'll be disappointed three times in a row!

I'm glad to hear your report on Alice, though. I wasn't sure if I wanted to see it or not.

  13. If movie is good, it doesn't matter if you watch it in 3D or not. 3D should only make it even better. But it won't make a crappy movie worth watching. If you know what I mean... =)

  14. But I won't. =D If it's good I should enjoy it in 2D as well.

  15. A si Avatar gledala v 3D tehniki? Kar se je letos zgodilo v Koloseju s temi očali, Alico in Avatarjem je popolno sranje no. Te že prej vse mine...

  16. Hmmm... love your way of finding the parallels. =)

  19. Joooj a Iron Man 2 je tako zelo slab? Jaz sem pa komaj čakala, da ga grem gledat! Enka je bila <3!

    Alico bom zdaj gledala ...

Avatar pa je zelo lep! :)

  22. You have to check it out! It stars *off the top of my head* Eric Bana - the mega villain - Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto - the über villain of Heroes- & Zoe Saldanha. I may have mispelled some of the actors' names. A reboot of the original series. You don't need to know a thing about the original series. It was made last year AND IS A MUST SEE! Enjoy!

  23. I actually really liked alice in wonderland, but that's probably beacuse unlike everyone else I wasn't expecting it to be an exact remake of the disney one. I found it to be a cozy adventure with the lovely details, quirks and characters we've seen before. This is the kind of movie you can watch rainy summer days since it's got depht but not enough depht too drown you ;)
