I'm sure you've heard about Murphy's Law before. You don't even have to be a lawyer to know it. And it's true. If something can go wrong, be sure it *will* go wrong. I must admit I was in a hurry, but come on! Effing up my manicure just a few seconds before I leave my house. Crivens and shuttlec*cks! And I even put my jeans and ''all stars'' on before my manicure.
Now I'm walking around like a disabled person, because my mani looks weird. And I don't have my mani's first aid with me. Oh, Murphy, how I love thee!
I also found the beauty of english language... Shuttlecocks? Really? It sounds like a swear word. Something like 'pain in the ass'' or being assaulted.
1. noun My boyfriend is such a shuttlecock.
2. verb He shuttlecocked me.
It *is* a beautiful language.

Thanks for looking!

Agh, I hate messing up my mani and not be able to fix it!
ReplyDeleteI'm confused...what is that, a thermos? A dildo carrying case?
ReplyDeleteWe do have a rather interesting language of slang here.
ReplyDeleteI hate when a perfect mani gets destroyed! Grrr
I feel your pain! Dont we all :) Im actually finishing my Lawschool this year so your Murphy's Law thingy was kinda funny to me :))
ReplyDeleteI took my Orly Smudge Fixer with me, but it didn't help.
ReplyDeleteROFL No, that's a package of 10 shuttlecocks (for playing badminton).
ReplyDeleteYeah I looked up what a shuttlecock was after I posted. I always just called those birdies.
ReplyDeleteWhat is a "criven"?? <.<
ReplyDeleteShuttlecock! BWHUAAA!! I played badminton quite a bit as a child, and something tells me had I called the birdie a shuttlecock I would have been hit in the back of the head with the racket by my parents!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI too hate the Murphy's law being in full effect once you've done a mani - a mani that you really like - but if it were an ugly one - it would have not been smudged!!

It's a ''swear word'' from Terry Pratchetts book:
