Standing Ovation for Barcelona

Well done, Barcelona!

Congratulations for banning this awful ''tradition''. *claps*

P.S: I never watched this, but I was always rooting for the bulls anyway.

What do you think? Tradition worth keeping or pure animal torture? Share your thoughts.

  3. I'm glad about this too. I actually went to a bullfight in Barcelona years and years ago and it was just too sad. It made me sick. :( Poor bulls they have no chance. So yes YAY Barcelona!

  6. Hooray, I am so happy about this! I'm not Spanish, so I don't know if this is a truly important tradition. But I, like you, also always rooted for the bull! It's cruel to senselessly taunt and kill an animal. It puts both the bull and the human in danger, so silly!

And besides, I always thought cows and bulls were sweet looking. They're such nice creatures.

  7. I was never able to look at this kind of "show", in the tv or in pics. It's pure torture IMO :(

  8. Pure torture, for sure. Traditions of a past when people didn't know better, had strange ideas and thought of animals as less worth than humans! Now we can be "happy" with all the bulls born from now that won't have to endure this shit.

  14. That is absolutely a step in the right direction! I didn't think they would ever stop this barbaric sport, if you could call it that.

  16. I have that in my country, Portugal. You just can't kill the bull in the arena, but you can torture him. it's a shame this stupid tradition is continuously going on. The problem is that it's a lobby and evolves lots of money and influences, this kind of show...

  19. Animal torture of course!
Cruelty all the way in this kind of tradition. We have no right to torture pure souls like that.
I'm glad they've banned, at least in Barcelona.

    Cheers!

  23. I couldn't agree with you more! I've never seen a bullfight but I was rooting for them in my mind too!

  24. Tradition or not, this is complete disregard to life and seems to me rather sadistic! I was so relieved when I heard they are finally ready to put this as something from the past... about time too.

  25. I'm spanish, and I'm happy with this decision. Bullfighting is torture, not art or tradition. But there are still other areas in Spain where bullfighting still permited.

  26. Definitely animal torture! I'm so glad to hear that such a cruel practice has finally been banned! I hope all areas where bullfighting still takes place will soon follow suit and ban it too. Thanks for posting about this!

  27. I'll never understand where is the pleasure !! It's a real animal torture, it sucks a lot !!
Unfortunately, in France that exists :(

  28. Pure torture! At the bullraces at pampaloma they make the end off the street (a very risky corner) extra wet so the bull will fall and break his back. It is so sad

  29. I'm amazed that this was banned. It's such a strong tradition. What will all the matadors do? I'm glad it's over and done with. Very barbaric.

  33. Hi, I'm Spanish and I have to say that I'm very glad with this decision. Altough I'm so proud of being Spanish, I'm ashamed of this tradition. The debate here is hard and won't end, but this is a little won battle.
