P.S: Simon Baker rocks!
What kind of a nail polish addict would I be, if I hadn't noticed this cosmetics shot...

I crawl out of my bed and press pause. This looks familiar. But wait... What does the writing say? Eastbly... easthly... no, I know. It's Earthly! (They explained that later in the story, so my detective work wasn't that victorious.)
Now I start thinking. Why haven't I heard of this brand before. They make nail polish (which looked like Zoya from my bed) so I should be familiar with it. I google it. Nothing. I google it some more and find this Earthly Body site. The logo and the name is not the same, but the font and part of the name is. I decide to ask them. A very kind lady responded that they do not make nail polish but they do make all natural personal care products (including mineral makeup).
So, could it be? Could this be Zoya undercover? All the features are here...

If you have any knowledge about this ''Earthly Pure'' nail polish, let me know. I'll probably sleep better once I find out what the deal is. ;D
Yes, I have a very troubled mind. And I hope you'll take this post with a lot of humor. A lot!
Thank you for looking!

Yep, this sounds like Columbo :D
ReplyDeleteIt looks like they had the art department design some fake labels and slapped them on other products. Definitely a zoya bottle though
ReplyDeleteI think it might be a Zoya with a label hiding the logo, since they probably weren't paid to advertise any brands in their series :)
ReplyDeleteI am so sure that it's a Zoya bottle with a cheap sticker on it. LOL
ReplyDeleteColumbo moment ahahahahaha Sasha
ReplyDeleteThat really looks like Zoya!
Pretty interesting brand out there! I mean, edible candles? And massage oil? My God.
Loooooooooool.. you are crazy... i cant stop laughing..
ReplyDeleteBut which Zoyas are they? That's the next question. :)
ReplyDelete:DDDD
ReplyDeleteLjubim se ko odkrijem kaj takšnega. :) Drugače pa je Mentalist prav zasvojljiv, koma čakam september, ko izide še 3. sezona. :D
I think it's just a made-up brand for the show. All those products look like they have a sticker label on them. None of the labels are printed onto the packaging directly. It might very well be Zoya with a sticker over it.
ReplyDeleteThey look a bit like the mini Sally Girl bottles.
ReplyDeleteIt looks to me like they applied the "Earthly" sticker over top of other products. It could be that the show just used the "Earthly" line for the episode. I think sometimes they just do stuff like that to hide the logo of the products they use in shots?
ReplyDeleteDoes that blush/highlighter look like Physician's Formula? I know I've seen that palette somewhere.
ReplyDeleteStill good detective work, my dear!!
It's most likely a fake product company that was made up for the sake of the show so that they wouldn't have to get the rights for the real product. It's actually done pretty frequently.
ReplyDeleteTV shows often cover brand name labels with made up ones for filming props, it doesn't surprise me to see a Zoya bottle with just a little sticker label on it.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this brand. You are funny! Looking for another brand to buy?
ReplyDeleteYea, I think it's Zoya undercover. :)

My guess is that they made up the company name for the episode and just printed up labels and placed them on already existing cosmetics to use as props in the show. Most of the time, when they use company names in TV shows they are usually fictional. There is too much liability to use real companies without permistion, and too expensive to by some sort of rights to use on TV. Now, I don't know for sure, this is just my educated guess. If it is a real brand, why would they use paper labels...especially on their nail polish?
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I love The Mentalist too - one of my fave shows. I wonder if They just created the bottles specifically for the show? Maybe it's supposed to be fictional?
ReplyDeleteIf it's not Zoya I wouldn't know what it is, so yeah I'd go for Zoya as well!
ReplyDeleteUh, Simon Baker mi je padel v oči že nekaj let nazaj v nanizanki The Guardian. Yum!
ReplyDeleteIzgleda kot Zoya po prvem vtisu, ja...
I did some checking and found that Earthly Pure is/was a fictional cosmetic company made up by the mentalist writers so they wouldn't have to deal with paying any company to put real products into the show. Chances are the props department used stickers and such to make existing products look like this fictional companies products. Chances are very highly likely that your awesome eye is right and what they did was put a sticker over the Zoya part of the bottle to disguise it enough for TV. I guess they didn't count on someone being so well versed in bottle shape and such.
ReplyDeleteHahaha, Columbo moment :)))) you're so funny. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of the brand...
