Threading

Yes, that's right. I'm late to the party again. I just found out about threading a couple of weeks ago and now I've finally tried it myself. There are a lot of videos about threading on YouTube, but I can't pick one as my favorite, so just look for yourselves.

For those of you who don't know: threading is an ancient Middle Eastern method of hair removal with a cotton thread.

I just did my upper lip and the upper side of my eyebrows and I'm impressed. It's easy, quick and effective. Have you tried it yet?

Thanks for looking!

  1. You did your own? OMG. I have no patience for that.

  2. Yep. =) There aren't any good salons for facial hair removal nearby, so I have to do my own plucking and threading. It's still much faster than plucking.

  4. LOL I went and watched a tutorial on lip threading and I tried it. It's not as bad as I thought BUT I really need to practice that. I think I like it. :)

  6. @L: Practice makes perfect. Also, watch different videos, some explain it better than others. Like this one:

  7. I never found the courage to try this.. Does it hurt like hell? Yeah, I'm a crybaby on the inside :))

  8. @*Fleur*: I'm not a crybaby when it comes to hair plucking, so I'd say it doesn't hurt like hell. It hurts a little more than plucking because it grabs more hair at the same time, but then again - it's way faster too. It is in no way as painful as waxing. At least for me.

    @L: You're so welcome, hun!

  9. I've tried threading myself and i always fail-whale at it. There is this fabulous Indian lady here (finally) who threads so I go to her. The only thing is it hurts me WAY more than waxing =( but i've been waxing since I was 11

  13. Haa! I've seen that in ANTM, they raised hair line of one of the models that was from India. I tried this on my mom 20min ago when I've read your post, she is impressed but my pinkie hurts like hell. :D

  14. I had my eyebrows threaded once. It was really interesting, and seemed to take a lot less time than waxing. I could feel the tiny little hairs falling onto my face, which was weird, but I'd totally do it again!

  15. I tried threading my eyebrows, but I couldn't get the hang of it.

  16. I go to a salon to get my eyebrows threaded. I would be too afraid to attempt this on myself afraid that I would take a big chunk of eyebrow off. Lol! Is this possible?

  17. @Ioewe: Yes, that's right. They did do this one one girl. Great memory! =)
I know what you mean. I though my fingers are gonna start bleeding.

@rmcandlelight: I think it is possible, so you have to be careful when doing it.

@duckalicious: What don't you get? You make a loop out of cotton thread, twist one end around a couple of times to get a ''spiral'' which grabs the hair and pulls it out.
