I compared four grey nail polishes. I know that Catrice has shimmer in it, but that's not the most important thing right now. ;) Here are the suspects, all lined up:

I know it's gonna sound lame, but those three (China Glaze, Essence and Catrice) are the only middle to dark grey shades I have in my collection. That's why I added Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle.
Let's see them on nails, from top to bottom: Catrice London's Weather Forecast, Essence Movie Star, China Glaze Recycle, Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle. I applied 2 coats of each, except for Concrete Jungle, which is opaque in 1 coat (awesomesauce!).

Diamond Cosmetics is the winner here. One coat and great application + low price. You can not beat that! Catrice and Essence are equaly good. They both have a flat brush, the application is good and both are 2 coaters. I was surprised - Essence's quality really improved. Still, you get more for your money if you buy Catrice (2.49 €/10 mL) than Essence (1.49 €/5 mL). China Glaze ... you know how much I love China Glaze, don't you. Recycle is a gorgeous shade, but: the brush small (especially if you use a flat one right before), the polish is really sheer and I thought I was gonna have to apply 3 coats (in the end 2 were enough). It's not *that* worse than others, but since it's ChG I expected more from it.
It doesn't matter which shade you decide to buy, they all rock (more or less). =)
Tell me, which one do you like best?
Thanks for looking!
After I posted about my new Essence Movie Star polish, Maria Andrea asked me if it's darker than Catrice London's Weather Forecast. You wanted a comparison? Here you have it!

Svi mi se sviđaju zato što sam u zadnje vrijeme luda za sivom bojom, ali ipak mi se mrvicu najviše sviđa Movie Star :)
ReplyDelete@Lauren: I thought of adding SH to this comparison, but I only compare 4 shades at a time. It looks like Concrete Jungle (light grey), but it's warmer.
ReplyDeleteEvery one is different. You need them all! They're all fantastic shades of grey.
ReplyDeleteI <3 that DC polish! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat comparison! Thanks! I think I like Recycle and London's Weather Forecast the most!
