Vichy Update AKA If It's Not Broken...

Vichy sent me three of their Normaderm products: Daily Exfoliating Cleansing Gel, Tri-Activ cream and Chrono-Active night cream. I've been using them since November 1st and I stopped using them yesterday. See my previous post about Vichy Normaderm HERE.

Before I say anthing else, let's take a look at the poll results. Click on the photo to enlarge it.

So. I said I was gonna use these products for one month, right? Well, it's only been three weeks, but the effects are already showing... Let's see the products and ingredients.

I used Normaderm Daily Exfoliating Cleansing Gel (12,50 € for 125 mL) once a day. Usually in the evening.

Ingredients: AQUA, SODIUM LAURETH SULFAE, GLYCERIN, DECYL GLUCOSIDE, POLYETHYLENE, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, CI 47005, CI 42053, CI 77289, ISOBUTYLPARABEN, GLYCOLIC ACID, ZINC SULFATE, METHYLPARABEN, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, SALICYLIC ACID, PHENOXYETHANOL, CHONDRUS CRISPUS, JOJOBA ESTERS, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE, PROPYLPARABEN, TETRASODIUM EDTA, HYDROLYZED ALGIN, DEXTRAN, ACETYL HEXAPEPTIDE-1, ETHYLPARABEN, BUTYLPARABEN, PARFUM, CHLORPHENESIN

See this? Full of parabens and dye. Is the color of the gel *really* that important?

OK, let's move on. I used Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care cream in the morning (15,01 € for 50 mL). You can find the ingredients HERE.

And in the evening, I used Chrono-Active Anti-Imperfection Care cream (18,49 € for 50 mL).

Ingredients: AQUA, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, ISOHEXADECANE, ISONONYL ISONONANOATE, GLYCERIN, CETYL PEG/PPG-10/1 DIMETHICONE, SILICA, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, NYLON-12, POLY C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE, POLYGLYCERYL-4 ISOSTEARATE, ALGAE, ZINC PCA, GLYCOLIC ACID, METHYLPARABEN, MAGNESIUM SULFATE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, TOCOPHEROL, IODOPROPYNYL BUTYLCARBAMATE, PROPYLPARABEN, COPPER PCA, CAPRYLOYL SALICYLIC ACID, TETRASODIUM EDTA, TRISTEARIN, ACETYLATED GLYCOL STEARATE, ACRYLATES COPOLYMER, PARFUM.

These are the 3 products I used every day for the last three weeks. And there's no nice way for me to say it, but these fu*ked up my skin completely. Enlarged pores and mixed skin were my only problems 3 weeks ago. Now I also have to deal with strange pimples, that aren't actually pimples... It doesn't even matter. The most important thing is: these products were supposed to make my skin look better, right? Well, it got worse. A LOT worse. In fact - my skin didn't look this bad in ages.

I'm going back to my previous skin routine ASAP. I'll tell you about it in another post. I'm just so diappointed in Vichy's skin care products right now. You know... Duckalicious warned me, because the same thing happened to her. Well, there you have it.

Thanks for looking!

  1. Oh my goodness I would have never expected that! I'm sorry it didn't work for you, I just got a sample and am now wondering if I should even try it? Thanks for the heads up!

  2. I'm using products from the same collection too, and I can't see any improvement so far... I was wondering if I was the only one but reading the poll, and your review, now I don't feel so lonely, thanks!!! :)

  3. Mine hasn't gone to worse with Vichy products but then again I have acne-prone skin and my problems were large pores, uneven skintone and huge aching pimples. Honestly, I still have them all so yeah, after the stuff runs out don't think I will be buying new ones from Vichy :D

  4. ugh :( Never used Vichy products, but a friend who has extremely allergic skin can't wear any of their products...Even if they it's hipoalergenic.

    That's so frustrating!!
My skin started behaving strangely these days as well, so I started using Clinique products, and they are sooooo good! I definitely recommend!

  5. Never tryed their Normaderm line, but I did try some other creams and they were ok,didnt do much to improve my skin (its super extra dry) but they didnt brake me out. I am not in love with their products :(

  6. Wow! A lot of people here adore Vichy products even though the price is kind of too high for our standard. I was actually thinking about trying one of their foundations.

  7. It makes me break out too!

I use a cream for dry sensitive skin called Physiogel, AI cream. Its cheap, non-sticky, scentless and GREAT!

Check it out. I have used so many products, this is the cheapest and the BEST!

  8. well, face is sensitive, I know mine breaks out whatever I use, seems like the simplest way is the best - just water and occasional scrub. anything else and my skin is a mess.
As for Vichy I voted yes on their products because I've used their anti cellulite cream and Lipidiose body fluids and both worked really great.

  9. I'm using it too for about a month now and I my skin got worse too... This was the first cream I paid so much for and I just feel I threw my money away. :( Well, not just that, I even managed to screw up my skin too. :((
But if it was just me, well, ok, my skin could be strange. But so many of us? Come on, Vichy, this is bullsh*t!

  10. Tudi jaz sem uporabljala testerčke nekaj časa in sem dobila take boleče mozolje, neka varjanta skoraj podkožna.

  12. What a shame. That's the chance you take when your trying new products. They'll probably say that all the toxins coming out of your skin. Keep going with the program. Who wants their skin messed up like that. You want less problems not more!

  13. Allright, the thing is, with acne prone skin - you should NEVER EVER use stuff that's full of bad sh*t. Really. What skin like that need is moist, moist and care. I know. In my teens I used all kinds of bad stuff - both non subscripted and subscripted. Not a good idea. Today I use stuff that are for sensitive skin and without parabenes and that stuff - from Vichy (but I don't think brand matters) and something called O.N.E. I do love a Swedish brand called Estelle&Thild (read at http://www.estellethild.se/?p=&prod=&l=5) but it's a bit expensive at the moment and O.N.E. works good too. I also use make up from Vichy, mineral both liquid and powder and its the best! I have a lot of knowledge of this, this getting a long comment but if you want I can email you and tell you more. I do know how shi**y it is to have bad skin. :(

  14. Oh, I'm sorry for the links. I hope you don't mind, I was only trying to help. Sorry if I offended you!

  15. @Melisende: No problem! =) I don't really have problems with my skin and it's not acne prone. I just got these Vichy products to test and I told about the results. That's it. Thanks for telling us about your experience with Vichy.

  17. Ooh. Then why even try stuff for acne prone skin? You should be nice to your skin! :)

  18. I voted yes, because what I've used so far, works for me.
Sorry to hear what happened to you :(.

  19. Ze leta nazaj sem vedela da je vichy eno veliko sranje.. :/
Polno parabenov, barvil in velikih reklamnih kampanij...
