I got some stuff from Born Pretty online store for review and this is the first post in line. One of the products I got is this cracking nail polish. I've never heard of Kelier brand/polish before, but it sure looks interesting.

Here's what it looks like layered over China Glaze Snow from the Holiday 2010 collection.

There's one thing I have to mention about this polish: you have to apply it while the bottom/base polish is still wet. I like the fact you don't have to apply an extra thin layer to get a nice cracking effect. This one is really easy to work with. And one more thing - applying top coat is a must. Otherwise you might end up with chipped cracking effect. ;)
China Glaze, Snow, 1 coat + Kelier, Black Cracking Polish, 1 coat

A close up photo. Kelier cracks me up. XD

You can get your bottle of Kelier cracking polish (in 7 different shades) in Born Pretty online store for $4.08.

What do you think about this effect? Would you wear it?
Thanks for looking!

I really like these "old school" crackle polishes! It kinda looks like you've pulled the ends of the polish or something :) cool!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! :) I like this type of crackle much better than OPI's or Barry M's.
ReplyDeleteUau, ta je pa res krasen. Prefinjen efekt.
ReplyDeletethat's pretty! off to check out the different colors.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Kelier, either. Looks like their crackle effect is very delicate.
ReplyDeleteI have worn crackle polish before, so yes, I'd wear this. :)
I am not really into crakle polishes, but this one actually has a nice effect! I like the fine craked lines because it reminds me of chipping paint instead of cracked skin like the others do... ( yeah i'm crazy...i know...)
ReplyDeleteOoh I have this same black Kelier crackle polish. That tips you gave is very true. Base has to be a little wet and a top coat is a must. Even with top coat I get chips, but I wash my hands way too much.
ReplyDeletedid *you* like it? :)
ReplyDeleteI have this polish, and yes, you have to apply it while base still wet. I almost tossed mine in the garbage after I used it on top of Seche Vite, because it started to fall of in pieces, wouldn't stick to Seche, because it dried too fast (of course, that's why we like it).
ReplyDeleteBut nice crackle effect...
Great crackle! i think it more beautiful than BarryM instant Nail Effects!
ReplyDeleteYou have the nices effect with the crackle polish that I've seen. Never heard of this brand. Your a good advertisement for it. I would definitely wear it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cool!
ReplyDeleteI have this one, and it was extremely hard to remove. Harder than glitters! While I've not heard of others having the same issue, it's been issue enough for me to put it away lol. I prefer the newer crackles, even though this is different, I dislike the way it makes micro crackles in the sides. Doesn't look great up close IMO.
ReplyDelete@Yona: I *do* like it! =) It's easy to work with and it gives a great effect. As Jette Fromm said, it's quite hard to remove, but it's worth it.
ReplyDeletePrekrasno! Meni je tale tudi bolj všeč kot Barry M in podobnih. :) Zgleda kot popokana zemlja, ki komaj čaka na vodo. xD
ReplyDeleteHa! No to pa je lep cracle lak... Ostali so mi OBUPNI, ta se pa ravno prav skrči!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so cool! I like this a lot better than the "stripy" crackle effect you get from f.ex. Isadora. :)
ReplyDeletei like the look of this crackle better than the other companies that are coming out with it. its not as patchy, ....its more...well crackle-y.lol
ReplyDeleteI have this too but it doesn't look as good on me as it does on you but dont ya love em?
ReplyDeleteI like this one because the cracks are small!
ReplyDeleteI agree, this crackle to me is very delicate and much prettier than some of the others I've seen recently. Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteWow these crackle so well! Eeeep! I wants dis :D
ReplyDeleteI think this effect is pretty cool! I love how it can just separate so perfectly.
