Look of the Day

I'm loosing myself in all the posts I'm planning to publish, but there's not enough time. Here's my quick look of the day.

Face:
* Skin79 Hot Pink Super Beblesh Balm
* Miss Sporty Face Powder
* Illamasqua Writhe bronzer on my face.

Nails:
* Guppy, 64, 2 coats

Eyes:
* Urban Decay Primer Potion
* Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Solstice
* Vollare Quatro 3D eyeshadow
* 88 Matte Eyeshadow Palette (black)
* Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Boost mascara

Let me just tell you this photos were taken 7 hours after I applied my make up. Reason: I wanted to give Illamasqua liquid metals another chance. This time I applied it over my primer (Primer Potion) and I was pleased to find out that it works!!! No creasing whatsoever! Yay!

Leather and lace was my theme for today. Well, it's my theme for every day. XD

P.S.: My father is doing much better, but he's still in a hospital. Thank you for all your comments and wishes.

Illamasqua Raindrops - Layered

I promised to show you Illamasqua Raindrops layered and here it is.

1 coat of Raindrops over 2 coats of China Glaze Recycle:

I used three different grey polishes to layer Raindrops over: Sally Hansen Wet Cement, China Glaze Recycle and Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle.

As you can see Concrete Jungle is the closest to Illamasqua's base color, but is it really best to layer it over this shade? Let's see...

Well, if I'm honest, Raindrops looks better layered over any of these shades than it does on it's own. I still can't get over this sheer-ness. *shivers* I guess it depends on the taste, but I personally prefer it over Recycle. It doesn't look as original Raindrops looks (like it does layered over Wet Cement), but the shimmer is more visible this way. And here's one more reason to wear Illamasqua Raindrops layered - the shimmer is more visible when it's layered. No matter what shade of grey you choose. Let me just warn you: you have to be careful when applying it over darker shades. It can look like spilled milk... =)

China Glaze, Recycle, 2 coats + Illamasqua, Raindrops, 1 coat

Diamond Cosmetics, Concrete Jungle, 1 coat + Illamasqua, Raindrops, 1 coat

This is still better than doing 5 coats of Raindrops, right? Tell me: which is your favorite combo? Would you wear this one layered or on it's own?

Essence - No More Drama

I was planning on writing two posts today, but I got home late and I'm just too tired. I'm gonna show you my other new Essence nail polish (besides Movie Star) instead. This one is called No More Drama.

I feel like I failed again. This one could probably be a two coater. Probably. But you know how camera is. You think it looks OK, but when you look at the photo, you can see the smallest errors.
I thought this one is gonna satisfy my wish for a ghostly purple shade, but it's too red and not pale enough. I'd love it if it was cooler and leaning to blue, but it is what it is. I like it but nothing more than that.

Essence, No More Drama, 3 coats

What do you think of this one? Yay or nay?

Teh Itteh Bitteh Book of Kittehs

Look what I got in the mail today. It's Teh Itteh Bitteh Book of Kittehs - teh threequel to the LOLcat dynasty!!!

 It didn't get this book without a reason. Look who's in there. Yep, that's right, it's Tigra.

''A LOLcat is a picture of a cat with a funny, misspelled caption.
LOLcats are from the Internets and are full of win!!1!''

I got my book for free, because they used one of my photos, but you can buy it for 12 USD, I'm not sure where to get it though... *embarrassed*

This is my first LOLcat book and I LOVE it! What's not to love? It's a book full of funny cats! =) Well, I do have to say one thing though. I understand that these photos are submited by people all around the world, but there are some photos in the book that are extremely poor (quality wise). There aren't many of those, but on some of them, you can actually see the pixels. I don't mind some photos being blurry, but pixels ... come on.

It doesn't matter, I still love it.

Tell me: do you own a LOLcat book? What do you think about it? Would you consider buying it?

Grey Nail Polish Comparison

After I posted about my new Essence Movie Star polish, Maria Andrea asked me if it's darker than Catrice London's Weather Forecast. You wanted a comparison? Here you have it!

I compared four grey nail polishes. I know that Catrice has shimmer in it, but that's not the most important thing right now. ;) Here are the suspects, all lined up:

I know it's gonna sound lame, but those three (China Glaze, Essence and Catrice) are the only middle to dark grey shades I have in my collection. That's why I added Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle.

Let's see them on nails, from top to bottom: Catrice London's Weather Forecast, Essence Movie Star, China Glaze Recycle, Diamond Cosmetics Concrete Jungle. I applied 2 coats of each, except for Concrete Jungle, which is opaque in 1 coat (awesomesauce!).

Diamond Cosmetics is the winner here. One coat and great application + low price. You can not beat that! Catrice and Essence are equaly good. They both have a flat brush, the application is good and both are 2 coaters. I was surprised - Essence's quality really improved. Still, you get more for your money if you buy Catrice (2.49 €/10 mL) than Essence (1.49 €/5 mL). China Glaze ... you know how much I love China Glaze, don't you. Recycle is a gorgeous shade, but: the brush small (especially if you use a flat one right before), the polish is really sheer and I thought I was gonna have to apply 3 coats (in the end 2 were enough). It's not *that* worse than others, but since it's ChG I expected more from it.

It doesn't matter which shade you decide to buy, they all rock (more or less). =)

Tell me, which one do you like best?

Miss Jimi

Sun + a few extra minutes + Jimi sitting still for two seconds =

I always thought she was black. And she used to be black ... I don't know what's happening. Is she using my hair color? ;D

Essence - Movie Star

I bought this baby today and I just had to try it on immediately. And here it is - Essence Movie Star.

I love a good grey creme. I only have one problem with Movie Star: it dries a shade or two darker than it looks in the bottle. It's actually looks like a medium grey in the bottle and on nails ... well, it's really dark (not black kind of dark, but still). Don't get me wrong, I still adore it. The brushes in these Colour & Go polishes are flat, which make the application so much easier. This polish is a winner. Especially since it's only 1.49 €.

Essence, Movie Star, 3 coats

I should add that 2 coats would have been enough to wear it IRL, but camera sees it all. ;)

Urban Decay Primer Potion - Use it Up!

Urban Decay Primer Potion - as gorgeous as the packaging looks, it's also very impractical. We all know that, don't we. I'm gonna tell you how I made the most out of it. I didn't invent anything new, but I thought it might interest you. Let's take a look...

So, this is your standard Urban Decay Primer Potion. It looks so pretty, but you have a feeling you're running out of the product and preparing yourself to buy a new one.

Before you throw it away, thinking it's empty, make sure there's really no more product inside the amazing purple bottle. First thing you can do (and still enjoy in the oriental shaped bottle) is to remove the plastic cap on the top of the bottle neck. After you remove the plastic part, I'm sure you'll be able to use it for at least a dozen times (probably a lot more).

This bottle is really sneaky though. It will try to convince you one more time, that you're running out of product. There's nothing to loose, so just take a knife and cut the bottle in half (be careful doing it!). Look what I found in there:

And that was after I thought I'd have to buy new bottle of UDPP. See how much product there's left?

I took a spoon,scraped the primer out of the bottle with a handle and put it in a small plastic jar. I think I'm good for another few months. =)

Hope you find this useful. Thanks for looking!

Nu Colour - Scarlet

I have so many untried polishes in my collection, it almost makes my head hurt. But when I'm in a hurry, I don't feel like trying on new shades. I don't know if they'll apply nicely, if I'll need to apply a lot of coats and if they'll dry in time. That's why I like to stick to my already tried and favorite shades. One of them is Nu Colour in Scarlet. I absolutely LOVE this one. If I'd have to live with only one classic red creme, this would be it.

Nu Colour, Scarlet, 2 coats

I used a lot more make up today than I usually do. I even used a powder, can you imagine that! =)

FACE:
* Skin79 Hot Pink Super Plus Beblesh Balm
* Miss Sporty Face Powder in Medium
* Illamasqua Bronzer in Writhe

EYES:
* Urban Decay Primer Potion
* Manhattan Perfect Eyes in Grey Effects
* Manhattan X-Act Eyeliner in True Black
* 88 Matte Eyeshadow Palette (white for browbone and brown for brows)
* Miss Sporty Mini-Me Eyeliner in Snow (waterline)
* Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Boost mascara in Turbo Black

And these are my fauxnverse shoes. They fit perfectly with my torn black jeans.

For My Dad

Universe works in mysterious ways and I think this post will bring me and my family a lot of positive energy. My sister, Amikadeja, already posted about for our father and today is my turn.

My father was born in 1946. From what he told me about his childhood, I can say he was quite a rebel. He grew up with 7 brothers and he was the youngest one. I just want to add that his artistic/crafty skills never cease to amaze me.

This is a chair he made for someones 80th birthday. It's all made out of vine wood. I know how much time and effort he put into this and it's not the only one he made... There were many more like this one.

People wanted to have crucifixes from vine wood as well. Not a problem for my dad... =)

He doesn't cook or bake much, but he is always the one who makes potica for holidays. For those of you who don't know what potica is, let me clarify it for you: it's a traditional Slovenian sweet bread filled with nuts and raisins. My father participated in a 'best potica' contest a few years ago and he won an award. =) Oh yes, I should add that he bakes bread and it's the best bread in the world!

So, that was a little something about my father. Be strong, Dad!

Gosh Black Passion & China Glaze Snow Globe

I got some good news and I had to celebrate with a funky glitter coat over my previous manicure.

Gosh, Black Passion, 2 coats + China Glaze, Snow Globe, 1 coat

A close up on the gorgeous glitter in Snow Globe. It kind of looks like snowing on a winter night, doesn't it?

Drip Drop

I'd love to post more. And mostly - post more nail polish posts, but my nails are naked most of the time lately. I'm wearing Gosh Black Passion at the moment, but I've already shown you that one...

I'm a just a shell at the moment. There's so many things going on... I can't get enough sleep, I can't do anything. Both my father and my uncle are in a hospital. I want to tell you about the strength that my uncle had shown... He survived 11 heart attacks in one night and I can't even get out of bed in the morning. My optimism kicked in though. I have no other choice. I'm doing fine, don't feel sorry for me.

Thank you for all your comments and support. If you have time, check out my poll in the sidebar.

Werewolf or Vampire?

I present duo eyeshadow from Essence The Twilight Saga Eclipse Collection in Werewolf or Vampire?

And make up I did with it...

I used:
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Slate
  • Essence duo eyeshadow in Werewolf or Vampire
  • Manhattan X-act Eyeliner in True Black
  • Maybelline Volum' Express Turbo Boost mascara in Turbo Black
  • 88 Matte Palette white eyeshadow

I used Vollare Joy 77 on my nails, so I could say this look was ''sposored'' by Biba. XD

So, what do you think? Werewolf or vampire?
