China Glaze Stella VS Risque Affair

China Glaze in Stella and Risque in Affair. Not exactly dupes, but close enough for me... Which is which?

I really need to purge my stash. It's getting too big and it's out of control. I don't need nail polish in every possible shade ever made (do I?), so I asked myself: if I wore Stella one day and Affair the next day, would anyone notice I changed my mani? Probably not.

I applied 2 coats of each.

Do you ever feel like your collection is getting too big? What do you do in that case: get rid of some polishes or go buy another helmer? =)

P.S: I choose Stella. What about you?

Thanks for looking!

  1. I choose Stella too, it's brighter and more intense ♥

  2. I actually like Affair better, probably because it's more red than purple!

  4. I like Affair better, no idea why. And if my collection gets too big, I'll start comparing them as much as I can and get rid of some.

  6. I do like Affair better too.

And my solution usually is just buying new Helmer (: though now I've been able to get rid of some of the polishes that I don't like by giving them to my sister so that's a plus :D

  8. I also like Stellar better. Much richer purple. I doubt anyone would notice the difference between the two unless they were polish fanatics!

  11. Stella rocks more. ;)

My stash isn't *huge* (I might be able to fill about 2 helmer drawers...) but I do find myself now questioning whether I need any new polishes unless they're really different.

  12. Stellar is the keeper.
I purge my nail collection with a giveaway...it's great when I have colors which a near dupe or color that just don't go with my skin tone. It's like recycling, plus my unwanted unloved polish goes to a new home and will be used. (I let my giveaway participants know it has been used though)

  13. I don't like it when my stash gets out of control, I try to weed out as many dupes as possible. When I find dupes, I choose the one I like best, and swap or RAOK the others. I also make sure to not impulse buy any more, that's gotten me into a lot of polishes I didn't quite love. I prefer a smallish stash, too much and it gets overwhelming.

  14. I could never ever get rid of a polish, even if it's ugly as hell. :) I'm a collector big time. *scary*.
So...a new Helmer is the best solution. :D
I must agree, Stella is really nice. I think I have to buy it.

  16. I am constantly reviewing my stash. Specially the brazilian ones. I give them away every now and then. But my holos and some of the international ones I can't possibly give them away :/

  17. Hum I prefer Stella too :) I have this one & for this polish it's like Short & sassy, mandatory to have both XD

  18. I feel like my stash is getting too big also, so I'm experimenting with franken polishes. Seems like a great way to use up stuff you don't need, and then you have a fun new polish!
