Lady of the Lake VS Wild at Heart

I was thinking about Lady of the Lake and how I don't have anything like it in my nail polish collection... and then I remembered. I have Wild at Heart polish somewhere. Yes, they're both purple with holographic shimmer. The closest it gets in my small stash.

So, as you can see, this is a comparison between a England's Lady of the Lake and Color Club's Wild at Heart. They don't look that similar in bottles. Lady of the Lake has blue undertones while Wild at Heart leans towards red. Color Club is packed with holographic shimmer and that's why it looks so much lighter on these photos. Here are the color drops:

This is how they look applied: I used 2 coats of each.

The application was easy with both of them. Wild at Heart is a bit more opaque and if you applied it carefully, you might get away with only 1 coat. I applied two coats of each polish so there's no winner here.
As you can see, Color Club is warmer and the holographic effect is stronger. a England on the other hand is cooler and it doesn't seem as rainbow-y.

On the sun:

These two are just too different for me to pick a winner. If you're looking for a holographic finish, then you should go with Color Club. If you like cooler purple tones, then you should go with a England. The quality is equaly good with both of them. The price is different though (a England being pricey).

It's up to you. Which one would you pick? Both, like I would?

Thanks for looking!

  2. @terry: a England bottle hold 13 mL and CC bottle 15 mL. Not such a big difference. ;)

  5. My favorite of these both are the Wild at Heart, because of the warmer shade.

    Look at this one: http://turamania.blogspot.com/2010/03/fortsetzung-teil-ii-pimp-my-nails-again.html

  8. I was wondering about these! Thanks for comparing them. I think I prefer the CC polish because it's a touch more holographic. And I prefer the darker tone, too.

  9. How do you do the color drops?? Do you just drop them on paper? I am curious!

    Great comparison!

  11. I love the Wild at Heart! I love the redder, warmer undertone to the purple. Of course, you really can't go wrong with sparkly purple nail polish. :)

  12. I love holos so I'd pick the Color Club. They're both gorgeous.

  13. @Turamania: If I see correctly Gorgeous is a purple with silver shimmer. LOTL has holographic shimmer it's just not dense enough for it to have a holographic finish. I think they're not dupes, but I'd have to see them IRL together to be sure. =)

@Squared Nails: You can see how color drops are made here -

  15. Easy, both. No doubt. They're too different to just choose one.
