Yeah, I know I did not invent anything new, but there was a question existing: will it still crack if I add some regular polish? And you know what - it works! :D
I wanted to have my cracking polishes in the original bottles, so I had to pour out some of the content in the beginning. Then I added regular nail polish and 2 mixing balls. Shake, shake, shake and there you have it!
I used Essence Crack Me! Black and a England Camelot to create a grey crackle.

For mint green crackle I used Risque in Verde Esmeralda.

Risque Azul Hortensia was perfect for blue crackle.

Miss Sporty #328 for lilac crackle.

And finally, Risque Love for pink crackle.

So, now I have 5 different cracking shades that I can't buy in store and each cost me less than €2.00. Pretty sweet, huh?
What do you think about these frankencrackles? Which is your favorite?
Thanks for looking!

This is pretty sweet :) Great tip!
ReplyDeletegenijalna ideja, i još radi!!!
ReplyDeletesiva i plava su mi najdraže, morat ću ovo probat i sama ;-D

ReplyDeleteSuper ideja! Jedino sto mi se ne svidja kako puca...
ReplyDeleteDobra fora! :) Vsi so mi všeč! <3
ReplyDeleteVery smart... :-) I'm so pleased the cracked effect still works after adding regular nail polish.
ReplyDeletezelena!
Dobra ideja. Nikoli mi ne bi prišlo na pamet!
ReplyDeleteHow utterly awesome. I must try this out, this is way better than plain old white!
ReplyDeleteI love the shades, it is so different the way the crackle!
ReplyDeleteThe Pink one looks very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteIdeja za 10!!Svaka čast, morat ču i ja probati nešto smiksati :)))
ReplyDeletelooks like the crackle effect mimics the brush strokes... if you were to say, brush it on at an angle, would the crackle follow suit?
ReplyDeleteLove the blue and green! That is cool, thanks for letting us know this works :)
ReplyDeleteOooo super ideja! Jutri mešam ... :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the blue and pink!!!
ReplyDeleteLove all of them!!
ReplyDeleteThe colours are great, but I don't like the stripes it makes while cracking :(
ReplyDeleteOh I love the green crackle!! I wonder if I added eyeshadow will they still crackle? I'll have to try it out.
ReplyDeleteOmg, great job!!! They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI actually thought this was a new collection to be launched by Essence! Boy, was I disappointed, haha :-P They'd make a nice collection :)
I LOVE the blue crackle!

ReplyDeleteso smart! really nice colors! i might just try something like that with my white crackle since i never use it now. :)
ReplyDeleteomgosh! i thought before but i've never tried it just in case it didnt work. (;-;) good to know that it works! :D
ReplyDeleteOooh, I like those!
ReplyDeleteYou did a really good job.
Will try to find some essence polishes here in the states :)
pretty color! but I do not like the gray...the lines are too close
ReplyDeleteCool to see different brands and their products. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love all of them. Great idea, I'm definately going to do this also! We have here in Bulgaria really cheap crackle nail polishes from Depend - about 1.5-2 euro. I'm really happy that you share with us this.
ReplyDeletethis is so cool!
ReplyDeletekool!!! i love the cracked effect!
ReplyDeletePerfect, all of them! Thanks so much for the idea, I'm sure we'll all try it!!
ReplyDeleteuh meni pa to ni všeč..
ReplyDeleteSince I'm a green lover you know it's the mint green crack! You did an amazing job with making these. Love the pink also!
ReplyDeleteLord, what a great idea. We can't complain about having only one colour of crackle.
I know that I've already posted, just a heads up - I've nominated you for a Stylish Blogger Award ;) Great work!
Super ideja!!
ReplyDeleteI quite like the unusual effect... and the fact that these are frankenpolishes :D .
