My eyelids are very oily. A few years back I wouldn't even wear eyeshadow because it creased like crazy. Then I heard of Urban Decay Primer Potion and started using eye shadow daily. Good eye primer is a must for me and since I've read a lot of good reviews about ELF Eyelid Primer, I decided to give it a shot. It's a lot cheaper than UDPP and if it's really that good, it can maybe replace it...
And so I tried it. I applied my make up like I usually do. I used cheap drugstore eyeshadow and Eyelid Primer as a base. I had my make up on for 7 hours. During that time I sweated, cried and did everything I normally do. Well, I don't normally cry, but that was just a ''bonus'' and a great opportunity to test this primer. ;) This is how my make up looked after 7 hours (in hot, hot weather).
* ELF Eyelid Primer
* Vollare Quattro Eyeshadow
* ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen in Ash
* Rimmel Volume Flash Mascara
I have to say I'm impressed. The shadow did crease just a little, but it wasn't visible unless I closed my eyes completely and raised my brows. That happened with UDPP as well sometimes. So that's enough for me. I also gave Eyelid Primer to my sister, because I wanted a second opinion. She loves it and as I could see for myself, the eyeshadow stayed intact for more than 12 hours on her. Well done, ELF!
+ Works great.
+ Love the packaging (you can see the amount of product in the bottle).
+ Application style.
- Only available online (EU prices are much higher than US prices).
- It may crease a little (for those with extra oily lids, like me).
Do I recommend it? Yes, yes, YES! With this price, there's not a lot to loose. Give it a try!
*I bought this item myself, with my own money.
Thanks for looking!
