Beautiful

EDIT: Serves me right for not following the celebrity news, ups and downs. It appears Beyonce is a better actor than I thought. Tamara informed me about this diva and her ''love'' for animals. Wearing fur, abusing animals for her videos... I did some Google search and now I see another side of her that's not really beautiful anymore. Smart woman like her must really be cruel and think only about money and her own ass to be acting like this. I dislike that very much. I can't deny her talent and beauty, but I guess it's only skin deep.

Smart, professional, talented, strong ... those are just a couple of words to describe Beyonce. She really is one of the best female performers on the music scene and appears just as beautiful on the inside, as she is on the outside. I admire her beauty, voice and the way she built her career: not on scandals and media drama, but solely on her talent. It's obvious that she knows what she wants. This new video of her left me speechless.

I got goose bumps. This is what I call artistic video. The way the light hits her face, showing her bone structure, movement, beauty and seduction. Very sensual. The colors, elements, frozen and combined images (which kind of remind me of the beginning of Lady Gaga's Born This Way video) - this video is just perfect. All three of the directors deserve a prize and yes, Beyonce is one of them. Well done, B!

There are a lot of videos that made an impression on me, but this one is the latest. Now I'd like to know about your favorite music video - based on the visuals and not music. Tell me!

Thanks for looking and commenting!

  2. It is indeed a beautiful video that reminds us (if need be) that sensuality is in suggestion. I saw a documentary on Tina Turner not long ago and was shocked to realise how much she and Beyonce looked alike at the same age (I mostly knew TT after Mad Max, so always with her crazy blond hair), and they perspired the same beauty and sensuality. Amazing.
It's funny you should post this right now since I just finished a post about beauty as well, though not of the same kind...
Mmm, a music video that I like based on the video... I haven't watched music videos for ages but I was struck in the 90s by the videos from French singer Mylene Farmer: they were quite amazing, movies all by themselves with a fantastic aesthetic and direction.

  3. I have to admit, I don't really care for Beyoncé, she's gorgeous, her voice is amazing, but I just don't care for the actual music.
Also I don't think I could name an awesome music video based solely on the visuals. The thing that immediately came to mind was one of my favourites, Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt. By itself it makes me teary-eyed, but the video makes me bawl outright. Everything is so beautiful, yet utterly broken. I can't even explain what it is I find so gripping.

  4. Beyonce je meni osebno ena izmed najlepših žensk na svetu, če ne najlepša.

  5. This is without a doubt one of the most beautiful videos in the world, from one of my favorite albums, from my very favorite singer. This is an amazing song, all her songs are, really. But one thing that caught my eye and made my heart swell, is that she's wearing her engagement ring from Jay-Z in the video. Those two - amazing couple. I'm glad finally somebody sees Beyonce for what she is, truly talented and just amazing. All my friends are always like "she's ok".. No, she's perfect! :D Great post! xxx

  6. I think Beyonce is soooo beautiful, but I HATE her blond hair. It just doesn't suit her, and smacks too much of trying to conform to a white-girl beauty stereotype. You don't need to, B!

As for music vids, maybe 'Hey Ya' by Outkast for its green and multiple Benjamin Andres. Or George Michael's 'Freedom '90'. Those were some gorgeous women.

  7. This is a stunning video clip, thanks for sharing! I love it when her hair flies up with all the colours. I agree Caroline for B's blonde hair (although hate is a much too big word for me); it's too light. But it shows up on camera much better than black hair, which seems to disappear sometimes (i know, i have black hair) and I'm not only sorry for the colour but also for the disappeared curls.

  8. It reminds me of a female version of D'angelo - Untitled video :)

  9. I love the video for "Temptation" by The Tea Party. It's kind of weird and dark, but I enjoy it. I think part of the reason is because the first time I watched it, the main thing I thought was "Wow, that girl's nails are perfect!" (she's only in the video for like 10 seconds, but whatever).

  14. Wow, what a sensual video. I have to admit, though, seeing her with such shiny skin made me think she had to break out afterwards, it looked almost greasy! It works with the lighting though. As for visually striking videos, I like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqmORiHNtN4 Just her and a camera.

  15. I just like the beginning of the video where the lights are dancing and changing the shape of her oiled glittered face/body. Thats an amazing concept. As far a videos that I love for artist visuals....Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun and Weezer - Buddy Holly.

  16. I can't say it's my favorite video, but it was the last that really catched my attention. I was zapping and my TV was muted, when I saw it I just had to stop and watch it. That was Thirty Seconds to Mars' "Hurricane" video. Not that I don't like the song itself, 'cause I do, but I find the video something really striking. And beautiful in a way. Actually, in many ways, I like the photography in general, the special effects, the outdoors storm scenes and, girl, Jared Leto is damn hot in it too. :D

  17. There something I simply can't get over when it comes to Beyonce. Her fur coat(s) she shamelessly wears/wore.

Yes, she can dance and sing and she's pretty but to me, she's a business woman, a money-making-machine living a self-indulgent life. *shrugs*

I rarely hear of her performing for charity or similar.

  18. My favorite video is From Yesterday - 30 Seconds To Mars. It's based on a "China" theme :) ... so many details, great mix of colors, beautiful song (and singer ;) ...

  19. I agree with you completely about Beyonce. Amazing singer, beauty and business woman. Also seems to be a very sweet and real person.

  20. This video is pretty nice:) My all-time favourite (music AND video) is still JOHNNY Cash: Hurt. I ALWAYS get tears in my eyes as well...

  21. I love Katie Melua's Nine Million Bicicles video. I also find Kanye West's All falls down video pretty original.

  22. I must confess that I'm addicted to R.E.M. - It's the end of the world. I really, really love the music, especially the video.
It's so simple, but yet so nostalgic and melancholic at the same time.
I don't know why but the video makes me smile.
Maybe it's because I used to watch it while a kid.
I also like (a lot!!!) Raimundos - Mulher de Fases. Raimundos was a brazilian band which I liked a lot. Mulher de Fases is one of their best music. It reminds me of my childhood, when I used to go Santo Amaro to buy really cheap stuff with my mom.
Maybe I should stop "talking"... =)

  23. She is so beautiful and works hard to be one of the best. Wonderful!

Depeche Mode "Walking in my shoes" is a great video with black and white and deep vampy colors. Another one is Daft Punk "Around the world". It's a video diagram of the song.

  24. It's always disappointing when artists you admire end up disappointing you :-(
I rarely watch music videos but now I'm tempted to see if my favourite songs have good videos!

  25. Have you seen the video for 'Aroused' by Tom Vek? I really love that video but it's not a great anti-smoking ad!
    xx
