Review: Balea Soft+Care 2in1 Intensivpflege & Maske

I'm not very consistent when it comes to pampering my skin with face masks. I tend to use them a lot and then I completely forget about them for months. I bought this 2 in 1 Balea Intensivpflege & Maske product a while ago, because I really liked their Multivitamin mask and I thought this is the same product in a better packaging. As so many times before, I was wrong. For those of you who aren't too familiar with German - this product is supposed to be an intensive care and mask in one. I can't really see the difference, since applying mask means to IC your skin anyway, but I'll let it slide.

Here's what it says on the packaging:
''The vitamin cocktail, consisting of vitamin C, vitamin E and provitamin B5, provides moisture and protection. Vitamin C and E help neutralize free radicals. Pro-vitamin B6 increases the moisture holding capacity of the skin. Strawberry scent.''


Application:
- as an intensive care: apply gently and evenly to your face, neck and chest
- as a mask: apply gently and evenly to the face avoiding eye area; leave it on for 5-10 minutes and remove it with a cotton pad

Ingredients: Aqua, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Distarch Phosphate, Myristyl Myristate, Phenyl Thimethicone, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polyisobutene, Parfum, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Mica, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Cl 77891, Cl 16185.

I tried it twice and I can't say I like the product. It's way to runny for a mask and I don't feel comfotable using it as a so called ''intensive care''. I'll let you know why...

Pros:
+ The packaging (it's way better and more sanitary than those sample baggies).
+ Price.
+ Strawberry scent (it reminds me of strawberry candy).

Cons:
- Too runny to use as a mask (I like my masks thicker).
- It contains Myristyl Myristate which is known to be very comedogenic ingredient.
- Scent (it smells nice, but can get a bit overwhelming and/or irritating).

As I already said, I don't feel like using this as a mask, because it's too runny and I certainly wouldn't use it as an intensive care - that means you apply it like a cream and leave it on. The ingredient I mentioned can cause breakouts and noone would like that effect. If you're gonna use this, I strongly suggest you to rinse it off after a certain amount of time. This product doesn't do much for me. It smells nice, but I bet I'm gonna start hating the scent sooner or later because it's quite strong. Too bad, I like the packaging ... I'm tired of masks in those baggies but I guess they're still better than this poor excuse for a mask.
