You Told I Had The Eyes of a Wolf

My Slovenian reader Tina asked me to create this eye make up look worn by Tarja Turunen.

Here's a close up on the eyes:

Before I start, I want to apologize for poor quality of the photos. These were taken right after my computer died and came back to life and my photo editing program didn't save the photos at the highest quality. It's my fault really. It would be too much work to take the photos again, so I decided to post them like they are.

Step 1: Prime your eyelids (I used Urban Decay Primer Potion). Take a pink-ish nude color and apply it all over your upper eyelid (I used Gateau shade from the Sleek Oh So Special palette).

Step 2: Start applying a black eyeshadow to the outer corner of the eye (I used Noir from the Sleek Oh So Special palette).

Step 3: Blend the black eyeshadow toward the inner eye corner, but be careful to not take it too far. This is how it should look by now.

Step 4: Take a black eye pencil (I used Essence Black Mania eye pencil) and line your eyes all the way round: inner eye corner, upper lash line and waterline. Take an angled brush and apply black eyeshadow between your lower lashes and on your lower eye lid. Blend it out.

Step 5: Fill in your eyebrows.

Step 6: Apply mascara and false eyelashes.

You're done!

You can always use different colors if you want, use flasies or not ... mix it up and make it your own.

Thanks for looking and commenting!

  1. I love your version, you were really good at recreating the look, I would surely have found difficulty in guessing the colors!

  15. Hi Nihrida! I've been reading your blog since a long time but this is the first time that I post a comment. Just wanted to say that I'm loving your takes on Tarja's makeup (I've tried to copy her look a million times but I'm never satisfied of the results...). It's great to find another fellow Nightwish fan :)
Love your blog, keep up the good work!

  19. Thank you very much for this little tutorial (with good pics, I'm not able to see the "bad" quality in it). Looks like even I could be able to re-do this. Thank you for keeping it so simple. (I think other ladies would have done it with at least ten different eyeshadows so I would have thought "WOW! But I will never be capable to do something like this.")
But I have to say that I personally don't like that "gap" in the outer corner (I know, it's also there in the original, not your "fault") - but I'll just try to fill it in too.
    Again: Thank you. =)
(And I am totally in love with you eyecolour!)

  23. Živjo, tole na prvi sliki izgleda zelo komplicirano, ampak ti vse narediš tako lahko in rezultat je še boljši kot 'original'!!!
Kvalitete slik je pa tut super, zato se ne sekiraj :)
