Misslyn - Las Vegas (#646)

I got this Misslyn nail polish almost a month ago. It looked special enough for me to pay the price of 5€ (yes, I think that's a lot for 10 mL's of polish). It looked to good to be true. And it is. This sucker is completely sheer. This is how it looks at 3 coats.

Weird and not pretty at all. I didn't bother applying it until I'd reach opaque finish. It would take forever. I decided to layer it over some other shades instead. Here it is over (from pointer to pinkie):
* Diamond Cosmetics, Plum Pie in the Sky
* P2, Chic
* Orly, Cashmere Cardigan
* Wet n Wild, White Creme

I like the way it looks over Cashmere Cardigan and over Chic. It looks OK. I'm not a fan of layering/sheer polishes, but I think I'll hang on to it, just because I can see some potential in it. Not a lot, but still.

I really appreciate the fact they named this polish. Numeric 'names' are killing me. Las Vegas doesn't seem to be a very appropriate name for this shade though. I usually don't care too much about the name (as long as it's there), but I feel really strongly about this one. I see Asia in it, not America. I see love, passion, veils, long nights... It should be called Taj Mahal. =D Totally!

What do you think about this shade?

Thanks for looking and commenting!

  1. Catrice has a sticker on some polishes saying how many coats are needed to achieve full opacity. Misslyn could have done the same and then it would our choice whether to buy it or not.

  2. Taj Mahal defintely would've been a more suiting name. I really love it on al four shades! But hen again, I am a layering fan ;-)

  4. It looks pretty good over any of the above, my favourite being Plum Pie in the Sky! It looks magical in the bottle though!

  5. What a shame it's sheer. It looks so awesome in the bottle. I do like how it looks layered over the other colours, though.

  6. That's really annoying when you pay so much & it's not what you expected. It's pretty layered. At least you can save it by layering.

  7. I do like the special effects of this polish....maybe good for frankening? to get that lovely gold flash?! I would have bought on sheer (!) potential. as well....so no guilt!

  9. Čez oba temnejša laka izgleda super! (Ampak ga bom preskočila, ker tudi jaz ne maram layeringa.)

    Všeč mi je, kako dobro znaš kombinirati take sheer lake. :)

  12. Wow, you just saved me some money with this review! :)
    I almost bought it several times but I wanted to wait for few good words about it. But if it's sheer, I think I'll pass.

    And I also agree with you on the name. If Arabian nights didn't egzist, this one should have had that name.

  13. I like it best over the two darkest shades you layered it over. on it's own it looks like nothing much, though.

  14. Thanks for this review, this polish was an my wishlist too (I think the price is barely acceptable) and now I'm thinking about cancelling that one. But I'm not really sure because I like it very much over Chic (which I don't own but surely a similar shade). Hm... I just can't decide. Not a new problem to me though. xD

  15. V steklenički res izgleda čudovit in je škoda da je tako zelo prosojen. Mi je pa njlepša kombinacija na prvem prstu z najtemnejšo bazo, ker še najbolj povdari zlat lesk

  16. Pretty but definitely overpriced I think!
