Review: Bel Mondo Bio Cellulose Mask - Anti Aging

I think I already told you how lazy I am when it comes to using face masks. I like to use them every once in a while, but the application and removal process turn me off most of the time. The perfect solution presented itself when I was contacted by Bel Mondo and asked to try and review one of their bio cellulose masks. I said: I'm in! Let's see how this baby works!

Here's what Bel Mondo say about their masks:
''Our incredible bio cellulose facial masks fit like a second skin, and excel at transferring deep doses of hydration and nourishment. Use our masks for just 20 minutes weekly, and they'll help you transform dry, dull skin into skin that is supple, radiant, and refreshed. All without activators or messy cleanup.''

Bel Mondo is currently selling two types of bio cellulose masks:
*Anti Aging
*Skin Lightener

I got to try the Anti Aging Bio Cellulose Mask.

''Our Anti Aging mask is ideal for ages 25 and above, who want help in repairing skin that has lost firmness and moisture and who seek to lessen the appearance of wrinkles. This mask is appropriate for all skin types, and delivers multiple skin care benefits.'' (Bel Mondo)

Ingredients: Pure Water, Butylene Glycol, Hyaluronic Acid, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Aloe Vera Extract, Hydrolyzed Milk Protein, Keratin, Hydroxethyl Urea, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3, Polyglutamic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Algae Extract, Ceramide, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Methylparaben, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Fragrance.

What are the benefits of the Bel Mondo Bio Cellulose Anti Aging mask?
* Soothes and refreshes (Aloe and Hydrolyzed Milk Protein)
* Hydrates, Plumps, and Strengthens (Algae Extract, Hyaluronic Acid and Keratin)
* Smoothes fine lines (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide helps build the dermal matrix/boost collagen)
* Creates moisture barrier (ceramide)

I thought I was gonna get one face mask, but as it turned out, I got a box with 5 full facial masks.

Price: $22.00 for a single mask, $90.00 for a box of 5 masks

Where to buy? Bel Mondo online store.

I don't know if you get the idea of the size of these masks, but just in case you don't...

The foil bags the masks come in are huge and quite heavy. Full of moisture for your skin. =)

Here are the directions I followed:
1. Cleanse face. Remove the Bio Cellulose Anti-Aging Mask. It is infused with ingredients and quite moist.
2. The mask has three layers. Remove the semi-transparent film (bottom layer). Position the middle layer (bio cellulose) over entire face. Smooth mask so that it seals tightly to skin. Remove white film (top layer).
3. Allow ingredients to absorb for 20 minutes. Skin will feel cool, refreshed, and rejuvenated. If residue of mask ingredients remains, massage in gently.

I want you to see how this mask looks and I hope you won't get too scared and run away from the monitor...
Hahaha, yeah, I know. I look like Leatherface. XD

Pros:
+ Easy to use (pre-cut sheets are ready for application).
+ The mask is very (and I do mean VERY) moisturizing.
+ ''Leftovers'' can be used as a moisturizer.
+ Nice, clean scent.
+ Cooling and soothing effect (great for use after sunbathing).
+ Doesn't burn (not even around my sensitive eyes).
+ The mask doesn't tear in case you need to re-apply it.
+ The mask offers skin tight coverage.
+ Eco friendly (mask contains no petrochemical materials).

Cons:
- Price.

I've tried other kinds of sheet masks, but nothing like this one. It's made of cellulose and it really holds A LOT of product. It feels really slimey when you take it out of the foil bag and there's a lot of liquid in the bag after your take the mask out. That means it's really soaked to the maximum. After 20 minutes of ''wearing'' it on my face, the mask was still more moist than any other mask at the beginning of use. I literally didn't want to take it off, because it was still wet (not just damp, but wet). I think I left it on for about 30 minutes. One of the best things about this sheet mask is that it doesn't fall off. You don't need to lay still, you can walk around and it will stay put.

I only used this mask one time and it didn't make my wrinkles go away, it didn't make my skin feel or look like the one from the magazines. What it did do is make my skin feel super hydrated and soothened. I believe that the main key to beautiful skin is in hydration. If you're looking for that, this mask is perfect for you. If you're willing to pay the price of course. Talking about the price - it's the only bad thing I can think of when it comes to this mask. I'm gonna be really sad after I use my last mask.

*Product was sent to me by the company.

  4. Interesting mask. I've seen maks like this on YouTube. What the ladies do is to carefully put the mask back in the package, put it in a plastic bag, seal it & refrigerate it. They get another use from it. Maybe you should let your Mother try it.

  5. I was totally prepared to buy it until I saw the price tag. :( Right now my student budget doesn't allow me such trinkets. But I'm a huge fan of facial masks, so I'll definitively keep them in my mind when making a WL for some special occasion. ;)
