Trouble Maker

Let's try this again - nail polish VS eyeshadow: Trouble Maker edition.

Trouble Maker is a very special polish. I don't know exactly what color to define it as: maybe grey with golden and blue shimmer flakies? It really is something else ...

Essence, Movie Star, 2 coats + Lumene, Trouble Maker, 2 coats

Here's a close up. You can see the little blue and golden particles... Isn't it magical?

It was quite hard to do a matching eye make up. I don't own any eyeshadow that would represent Trouble Maker, so I had to pull out the big guns - my 120 eyeshadow palette. A little combining and layering and this is what I ended up with:

Products used:
* Beauty UK Metallic Sparks in Grey (as a base)
* 120 Eyeshadow Palette
* Essence Eyeliner Pen in Black
* Essence Black Mania Eye Pencil
* Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara

To be completely honest, I don't know if I'd be able to recreate this look. I used a lot of different shades: grey-ish for base, golden for highlights, blue-ish for depth... But it does look quite like Trouble Maker, doesn't it? Mission accomplished. =)

What do you think of Trouble Maker (polish and eye MU)?

Thanks for looking and commenting!

  1. wow so super metallic!!! The upper lid was a real transcription of that circle pic of the polish, but then the pics of the actual nails was so much more like the hues of bluesih grey under the bottom lashes!! So you nailed this one twice!!!!
(First thought from seeing the eye was OH me want a polish like that!)

  8. OMG, so gorgeous!! I have Trouble Maker, luckily, I got it as a cool gift from Finland and I still think it's one of the most unique polishes in my stash. It's so unusual. And awesome. Your eye make up leaves me speechless. It's ... absolute perfection.

You know, it'd be a fun "once a month/week" challenge. "Match makeup and polish" :-)

  15. WOW! That's how I felt like when I saw your eye make up. There really is something magical about layering up different colors til you achieve the effect you've been looking for, isn't it? And the nail polish is definitely an inspiration, I really like to see these ones, that are not totally "out there". I mean, you have to take in its beauty taking your time, it doens't "jump" on you. Hehehe... Beautiful!

  17. I LOVE that look, it's unique! Great match. :) It's funny how, while the polishes don't really look the same, the make-up reminds me of Color Club Snakeskin, makes me want to wear it again. :--)

  18. The EMU and the polish fit greatly. But the polish is not so much my cup of tea as it has no real colour. The shimmer/flakes look nice, but that's it.
But your EMU: WOW! Really really beautiful. I'm in love. As so often with your eye makeups. <3
