Essence Vampire's Love Lipstain in True Love

Those of you who are still waiting for the Vampire's Love Trend Edition - you're kind of lucky. With all the swatches and reviews on the internet, you won't have to stand in front of the display wondering if it's worth to buy that nail polish shade or if the lash powder really works. Yay for bloggers, right? I know some of their swatches saved me a couple of times as well. ;)

This Vampire's Love lipstain in True Love is the only product beside nail polishes that I purchased from the latest trend edition. I didn't think I would want it, because I thought this was a squeeze out tube. When I saw it has a doe foot applicator, I decided to give it a shot. I'm not sorry. It's an interesting product and well worth those 2.00 €.

Vampire's Love lipstains come in two colors, but I only got True Love, because I can't pull off a cool dark toned purple that is Bloody Mary. I guess I'm not addicted to blogging enough to buy it just for the sake of swatching. That counts for something, you know. =) Here's a swipe of the True Love lipstain on my hand.

These lipstain things that came out recently (at least in my world) are really interesting. I like the idea and I like the products as well. Before I bought this one, I have only tried lipstains in pencil form (Essence lipstain from the You Rock TE and Catrice one). I didn't know this is such a liquid-y product. I was expecting it to be more like a gloss. Well, it's better this way. The application is easy, but it can be tricky. You have to be careful to color inside your lipline or it will stain your skin and it won't look pretty. Once the lipstain dries, it basically stays put for hours and hours. It doesn't bleed, but it does fade a little. There's only one problem - this lipstain (or any other lipstain I've tried) will emphasize any dry spots on your lips. Don't foget to moisturize them prior to using any lipstain.

What are your thoughts on lipstains?

Thanks for looking and commenting!

  1. The pink looks good on you! I got both and the purple actually looks better on me. I love the application of them and the fade without looking ugly.

  2. sexy! and speaking of lipstain, Benefits Benetint is great. It is the one product I swear by (for blush and lipstain)!!

  3. I haven't tried any lipstains as of yet, but I'm quite curious about it. Since I'm totally addicted to lipbalms, I think I wouldn't have major problems with dry spots and it should look nice, right?! Pretty good colour too. =) Such a shame that there's no Essence (or the like) in Brazil. *sighs*

  4. I'm really interested in this color, the shade is really beautiful. Unfortunately I haven't seen this collection in my city yet. And I'm afraid that it won't never be available. :(
(last week I saw the Whoom! Boomm!!! Collection in a store... Great news, right?! :D )

  6. @Deborah: I agree with you. It really does fade without looking ugly. =) It's one of the reasons why I fell in love with this lipstain.

@CaCa: I've heard a lot of good things about Benefit Benetint, but I doubt I'll ever try it. It's too expensive for me - well, at least to expensive for a product I'd rarely wear.

@Mauni: If your lips aren't dry, then I guess you wouldn't have problems wearing lipstain. Maybe you can find some other brand that makes lipstains.

@Christina: Maybe it will come with a delay. Be patient. At least you got to see the Whoom Boom collection. I didn't. :/

  7. Zanimivo, nisem vedela da ima aplikator/gobico na koncu. Lipstaini so mi pa super zakon, ker so tako praktični vendar dvomim, da si kupim tegale ker se mi zdi odtenek malce premočen

  8. Ooh, I'd say this one's a winner! I love the colour. I just bought my very first Essence lip glosses and I'm so impressed with them. They're cheap too.

  9. I purchased the two colors and have been wearing them ever since; I love them and the stying power is amazing, way better than all other lip stains I've tried.

  10. I do rely on bloggers to show swatches of different products. There's been many times that I didn't buy something because I'd seen a swatch. I especially rely on bloggers for polish swatches. It also works to make me spend more money! I like that this lipstain has a doe foot. I have some lipstains from Revlon that have a magic marker like tip. It's so hard & not very easy. Pretty shade.

  12. Ahhhh you're torturing me! Yesterday I went around several stores in search of this stain but there's no way I found it! Got one nail polish and decided not to buy most of the rest of the collection... but the one thing I wanted wasn't anywhere to be found! :(
