Review: Wet n Wild Mega Eyes Cream Eyeliner in Black

Let's continue with my Wet n Wild review journey. I already told you about the Mega Last Lip Color in Mauve Outta Here and Everybody Loves Redmond nail polish and today it's time for eye make up. Let's talk about Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner in Black.

Can you believe this is my first creme eyeliner? Yeah, I find it hard to belive as well. I turned to Make Up Alley's Review 'center' when I was browsing through all the Wet n Wild products and this one caught my attention. I didn't own anything like it, I'm mostly into eye make up and there were some really good reviews on the MUA - I had to get it.

Before I start talking about the eyeliner, I must say something about Wet n Wild products in general. The packaging bites! I'm not talking about the plastic container which holds the product, I'm talking about the outer packaging. You need a full soldier's equipment to get to the product and you're destined to damage some nails in the process. I've experienced it with the eyeliner, lipstick and eyeshadows. At least I know nobody opened the packaging before me, right? Small scissors, olfa knife and tweezers are my must-have tools when it comes to troublesome packaging.

This is what you get after all the 'opening the packaging' science. A cute rounded (alienesque looking) pot with eyeliner and an angled brush.

I'm gonna say it loud and clear - the brush sucks and it's already in the trash. It's far to stiff and harsh, especially for a creamy and soft eyeliner like this one. I can't tell you how surprised I was by this product. I thought I was gonna make a mess and that it will smudge and look terrible ... but I was wrong.
I used my Essence eyeliner brush (the one with the blue bristles) to apply the cream eyeliner (it's not perfect, but still way better than the WnW brush).

The eyeliner doesn't have a special scent, it's very soft and really black. I applied it to the back of my hand to do the smudge test. I thought it was gonna make a black mess, but when it sets and dries, it's actually quite smudge proof. This won't give you panda eyes, but rather fade if you rub your eyes. I wouldn't suggest doing that with your make up on, but that's good to know, right? This cream eyeliner has made a believer out of me. I think I need to get some more ...

Products used:
* Urban Decay Primer Potion
* Fake MAC Eyeshadow in Silver Ring (all over the eyelid)
* Fake MAC Eyeshadow in Knight (outer corner)
* Sleek Eyeshadow Palette in Chaos (black for waterline)
* Wet n Wild Cream Eyeliner in Black
* Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara

Do you have your favorite cream eyeliner? Any suggestions which one to try next?

Thanks for looking and commenting!

  2. gorgeous make up!
I don't have a favorite cream or gel liner, they all tend to dry out so fast:/ But I love when they are new:P

  3. I have the Essence one and the Catrice one, and I prefer the latter.
Essence is also good, but Catrice stays on and lasts longer.
    and it's the blackest black.
    and matte when it dries.
    and waterproof. =D
and you can still easily remove it with an oil based makeup remover.
I really really like it :D
oh, and it's cheap! something around 31 kuna, which is 6 dollars or 4 euro =)

  5. I only have a couple by Essence and I really like them. Not black though, I love coloured and shimmery eyeliners! Now I also ordered two off E.L.F. and can't wait to get them in the mail and compare to the Essence ones :)

  8. I have MAC eyeliner in Macroviolet (it's a calm purple shade), but I don't really like it..maybe i'm just using it the wrong way, or my application skills really suck.)) It feels like it doesn't apply well from the first stroke, and i have to draw on top of the line to get the intensity, and it keeps getting thicker, and the previous layer smudge, and it gets messy. :( I've also bought Essense's one in brown color, I should say, it's more intense and softer (not sure if I like this softness, I'd rather have something more dense, because I always end up with too much product on my brush, and I either have to take the excess off on my hand, or on the side of that jar, and it's messy too..)
I'd rather try cake eyeliners next time, if I see any.

  9. I'm in love with this eyeshadow (who said that need to be expensive to look pretty).
I am a disaster to draw so I use a pen from La Colors.

  10. Aaargh, sem vedela, da bi si morala še WnW izdelkov nakupit.
    Kje jih ti kupuješ?

  11. I heard that this was a good product. I have quite a few creme eye liners. I have 2 Bobbi Brown's, 2 Maybelline's, 2 Tarte's & some Coastal Scents. I'll have to try the Wetn'Wild. They look really nice.

  12. This is the creme eyeliner that I use. I love the color and smoothness, but the lid sucks. It did dry up a bit. I added some good old Jojoba oil to it and let it set and it was good to go. I also use the Essence blue eyeliner brush with it as well, love that one!

  13. Ugh, before I started reading your post, the tiny brush cought my eye... Thought it would be perfect for me as I hate long-handled liner brushes: I have problems manipulating them round my eyes, so I'm constantly on a search-mission for a comfortable liner brush.

Currently I'm using the cream eyeliner by Zoeva or, should I say, I'm learning how to use it (it's all because of brushes I have problems using :/). I'm kind of thinking about looking into creamy/gel liners by Essence or Catrice.
