I got this palette for one simple reason: I wanted a cheap palette of grey-ish shades that I'll be able to carry around and not worry about it breaking. I certainly wouldn't be as light-hearted with a palette that costs €25.00, right? Here are swatches of the shades applied with dry brush over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy eyeshadow base.
The quality of these eyeshadows isn't the best (but not bad at all) and I didn't even expect it to be, but the results are very good. That's the most important thing after all. Quick and simple:

* NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
* Vollare Otto Eyeshadow Quad in #8
* Essence Eyeliner Pen
* Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara
I used Sigma Eye Shading brush E55 (from the Make Me Up Collection) for upper eyelid and Kim eyeliner brush E131 for lower eyelid. I have to say these are my go-to brushes and I love them both.
What are your thoughts on cheap decorative cosmetics? Do you prefer high-end make up? If so, why?

They look so pretty on you!!! I'm with you on the cheap stuff but will choose quality over price any time. But so far I've found things I like that are cheap too. Certainly don't buy makeup for the lable.

Tudi sama imam eno njihovo paletko in sem zadovoljna! Sem bila pozitivno presenečena nad njo=) Mi je pa vseeno, koliko stane, samo da mi je všeč(je pa seveda bolje, če je poceni=P)
ReplyDeleteSkoraj vse stvari v moji kozmetični torbici so zelo poceni in mislim, da s pravo podlago vse obstane na svojem mestu, pa še več denarja ti ostane in si lahko kupiš izdelek v vseh barvah in se ga ne naveličaš ;)

ReplyDeleteI purchased it in Tuš Drogerija. They have these kind of palettes all the time, you just have to find the right shades.
DeleteI prefer cheap make up as long as it does what it's supposed to :) I'd rather pay more for polish than make up since I don't use it very often. If I can find something on sale all the better! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a lot of those, really cheap eyeshadow palettes , mostly from Offertissima and China shops. I've never had an allergic reaction or anything, which is the main reason some bloggers don't use such palettes...

ReplyDeleteSe strinjam s tabo, jaz tudi rajši kupim poceni kozmetiko, sem imela nekaj malo dražjih stvari ko sem bila malo mlajša pa sem opazila, da nima smisla :P Tako da kupujem predvsem Essence in Kiko, edino zadnjič sem kupila revlonov lak, ker je prelep(facets of fuchsia) in že 6,79€ se mi je zdeo preveč :D

Uf, 6,79€ je zame že veeeeeliko preveč za lak (razen če je China Glaze ali podobno). Že za 4€ bi dobro premislila. =) Je pa res, da je vredno dati malo več, če ti je odtenek res všeč.

I believe that cheaper eyeshadow palettes work great with a good eye primer! If the shadow isn't too chalky and non-pigmented I'd definitely buy it.
ReplyDeleteI only use low to medium end brands, I am a newbie regarding eye makeup and I'm not ready to spend a fortune for just paying a brand sometimes. Now for example I got some mono eyeshadows by Catrice and a couple quad palettes by Elf and I am very satisfied by their quality. Next up I'm willing to try MUA and Nyx and see how they compare!

Čipšit dekorativa je zakon. Itak ko si narediš mejkap in greš ven, nihče ne vidi 'Lej, ona ima pa Dior senčko iz letošnje spomladanske kolekcije!' ali pa 'Ojoj, ona ima pa lipgloss za en evro!'. Imam en takle četvorček v rjavi. Najsvetlejša je res slaba, stale 3 so pa res super za hiter mejkap. Pa še ni ti žal, če se razbije. :))
