Weekly Sum-Up #21

Time for a cat update. Arya is doing fine. She eats A LOT, sleeps and makes trouble. Jimi wanted to play with her the other day, but the damage has already been done. Arya is kind of afraid of her. Well, at least she's got Aishila to play with. And let me tell you - when they're in the zone, they're a riot! =)

Book & Movie of the week: I started reading Jeffrey Eugenides' Virgin Suicides on Tuesday. I've had it on my 'to read list' for ages and I couldn't help it ... so I started reading it in the library. After a couple of pages, my eyes filled with tears. Yeah, I closed the book and read the rest of it at home. I was left speechless. It's such a great book. It reminds me of Girl, Interrupted (which is one of my favorite movies, btw) although it's totally different. Perfect. I wanted to see the movie as well and I'm glad I did. The only problem I had with it is the atmosphere. It was so much darker and heavier in the book. The girls in the movie appeared quite light-hearted compared to the book. Still, great book and great movie. Certainly not for everyone, but I recommend it!

Posts of the week:

Rina from Simply Rins did another great nail art tutorial. Heart Patches are perfect for those of you who want something special on your nails for Valentine's Day.

Fashion Polish posted her swatches of the a England The Legend collection. Pretty amazing!

Another view on Essence Gold Old Buffy by Vique's Varnish. Boy, I'm glad I got this one. It looks like it's lit from within.

Sophie from My Awesome Beauty probably dreams of Summer. Here's her summerfresh nail design.

Zoya True Collection by Kellie from Also Known As. Skylar, Lotus, Farah, Tru ... *faints*

I've already said Holland collection by OPI is one of their best collections lately. But these swatches by Scrangie show some of the colors are quite close to the ones from Zoya True collection.

China Glaze The Hunger Games Capitol Colors Collection by Scrangie. Oh yes, they're finally here. I see a couple of shades that could make their way into my stash, but I have to say I'm a little disappointed by this collection.

Nailxchange knows how to start a lemming. Her Sally Hansen Project Runway post reminded me hat my dreams of having this polish will remain only that. Dreams.

Is there a way to make a gorgeous indigo polish even more awesome? The Polished Perfectionist knows the answer to that: Indigo Lunar Eclipse.

Music of the week:
Well, not music per-se, but still worth watching. Animals FTW! Although the body isn't bad either. No?

  1. Jaz dejanko tvoje sum-upe berem samo zaradi filmov. :D Ne bi me motilo, če bi dobili svojo kategorijo. ;)

    1. Zaenkrat jih ne gledam tako pogosto, da bi imeli svojo kategorijo, pa bo moral biti 'sum up' dovolj. ;) No, upam da je.

  2. She looks beyond adorable! And thank you for the round-up... I can't believe how excited I am about the Hunger Games collection. :)

Btw, I adored Eugenides' Middlesex as well. But the latest novel... can't recommend it that much.

  4. I'm glad to knoe that im not the only one to be disappointed with China Glaze Capitol Colors Collection. And am I crazy or some colors from OPI Holland are similar to Zoya True Collection (or its the oposite?).

  5. I only saw the "Virgin Suicides" movie, and I loved it (I can't help, I'm a big fan of Kirsten Dunst!). I almost bought the book a couple of times but I think you must be really in the mood for a lecture like this, so I haven't bought it yet, and I'm not sure if I ever will.
I'm glad to see that we have similar tastes for books and movies, I always love to see what you're going to talk about in these Weekly Sum-ups ;)

  7. I love The Virgin Suicides too. I read the book, then watched the film and definitely agree that I prefer the book. I think it has a lot more depth to it, and yeah, much heavier than the film. But I still loved the film, just in a very different way :)

  8. And the first photo caption should be "Arya as Lux Lisbon". :D Love the photos' similarity.

  11. Tale knjiga je že predolgo na moji listi, komaj čakam da se konča izpitno obdobje in si v knjižnici izposodim polno torbo knjig, skuham čaj, zavijem v 'dekico' in se stisnem k mojim muckom ;)

  14. I love the virgin suicides! I was fortunate enough to meet Jeffrey Euginides in 2005. If you like that book, I would highly recommend his other two books, Middlesex and The Marriage Plot. They are beautiful and dark stories.
