I tried to do a gradient manicure, but there's no way I can compete with The Swatchaholic. Just look at her magnificent and 'there's-no-words-for-this-level-of-awesome' manicures:
Yep, I almost died. It makes my manicure not worthy of showing it to you. But hey, I get points for trying, right? For my poor gradient, I used S-he nail polish in 247 and Color Club in Power Play. I used a sponge for dishwashing hence the rough gradient look. I think I'll use a make up sponge next time. If there ever will be a next time.

I used to enjoy doing my nails so much. And now the fun is almost gone. But I bet it will come back some day. Oh and another thing. I used a neon polish for my gradient manicure. Didn't think that one through. It was a pain in the ass to photograph. A pain in the ass indeed.

EDIT: Check out this great gradient manicure tutorial by The Nailasaurus.
I want to thank all of you for your kind words, your prayers and thoughts on my Aishila post. It's nice and calming to hear from all the good people that are reading my blog. Thank you! I'm working on getting some extra special remedies (Thank you, Aelin!). I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope it works. Aishila's wound is healing well and she's already acting like a little devil, chasing around with Arya. And here they are - at their afternoon nap. Arya haz a happy. =)

Thanks for looking and commenting!

I'm so glad your cat is feeling better. I hope she makes a good recovery. I can't do gradient nails either, I just don't have the patience and don't really like the effect on my small nailbeds.
ReplyDeleteGive yourself a break till you can enjoy it again! A burnout is perfectly normal here and there and you've had to deal with so much emotional trauma with your cat.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I love this! Great job, and look at those kittehssss!!!
ReplyDeleteI will check Nailasaurus's tutorial but I'm afraid I will never be able to obtain a similar effect! When I do my gradient nails, there's always a neat demarcation line. :D
ReplyDeleteLove, love and love the last pic! *_*
I like it! :)
ReplyDeleteAh, gradient. Spravljam se ga delat že lep čas. Blazno mi je všeč efekt. In tvoj je prav fantastičen, tako da prosim lepo! :)

ReplyDeleteOf course you get points for trying! I think it looks very nice. :)
ReplyDeleteSo Cute!!!! (Your nails and your cats!!!)
ReplyDeleteDude I love your patchy gradient! It's like painting with water colours, that sure fire way that only really talented people know how to do! I totally prefer that to the sleek seamless ones.
ReplyDeleteOoh that's gorgeous, love it!
ReplyDeleteI really love the colourcombination! Good job :)
ReplyDelete(I think not a lot of people can compare with the gradients of the swatchaholic :p so be happy with yours! they look amazing :D)
I love your kitty pics! And I think your gradient manicure looks awesome! I'm glad you found that gradient manicure tutorial you mention in your edit - if you hadn't, I would have told you about it.

Happy to read the good news about Aishila. They look so cute & cozy together! ;-) As for gradient nails, hummm... yep I think I'll try it too. Lovely color choice! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteYour gradient looks good you know! And the cats are adorable, as always :)
ReplyDeleteomg i really love this sponging :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colour combo! It turned out so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteYour gradient manicure is gorgeous Sasha! <3 :)
ReplyDeleteFor me smooth gradients with a makeup sponge and a bit grainy gradients with rougher sponges are just two each beautiful types of the same technique. I equally love them both because you can create much more different looks with the possibilities of both.
I am glad Aishila is better! <3 :)
haha my mom always says that everyone will be okay as long as people don't give up on them.
ReplyDeleteAishila sure is one strong kittie! Your love for her shows that people give up on sick animals way too quickly..
I'm glad to hear she's doin better now and I hope she'll be with you for a long time (surviving even more colds and strange things)^^
and about the gradient.. I tried.. and failed.. I thought it looked okay from a distance but I need things perfect, or not at all ghehe..
okay I'm a secret reader (don't have blogger or something so I never comment) But I really like your blog!
xx Jasmine
I really like your gradient Sasha! I think you did a really good job! I can never get that smooth mix that Jeanette and Sammy get but I still love the granier gradients! I'm so glad Aishila is feeling better, she's such a beautiful little girl :)
ReplyDeleteI love this gradient, please don't make it the last one!
ReplyDeleteI like both looks when done in gradients - the smooth makeup sponge ones and the more textured washing up sponge ones. Both different but equally beautiful! This is particularly lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou did a fantastic job with the nails, tres cool. Good sign- acting like a little devil - I hope she feels back to normal soon, stay strong!
ReplyDeleteSasha.. i´m thinking of you and Aishila almost all day long.. so happy to hear that she feels better now!! I think that cats are pretty tuff animals and she surly will het well soom, with all the love she feels from all around the globe! i really would like to hug both of you right now..

ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous gradient! I'm glad your kitty is doing better. Kitty problems = the worst. My cat is like my small child & the ruv of my life. She had some issues when I first adopted her and it was the scariest thing ever.
