Bourjois polishes are not my usual pick, but since they were 50% off, I thought of trying them out. One of my purchases was this dusty light blue polish called Bleu Water. It's one of the shades from the 1 Seconde nail polish line. That doesn't apply to the drying time, but to the application time. The brush in this polish is really wide and I can paint my whole nail with only one stroke. I still don't know what to think of it. It's OK, but I like to have more control over the brush and this one just wraps my whole nail. It's a pro and a con really.

Bourjois, 1 Seconde, Bleu Water, 2 coats

So, I already told you about the brush. The formula is good - not too runny or thick and it's surprisingly opaque. The polish dries pretty fast. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this polish. My sister bought it too and she told me it's great, but the lasting time sucks. I didn't wear it long enough to tell you about it, but I guess it depends from person to person. My sister, for example, gets white tips before the polish would chip on her and I experience chipping with all polishes.

I'm not completely sure how much I payed for this polish, I think it was ~ 3.00 €, but I know for sure that I would never pay the full price. Essence spoiled me.
What are your thought and experiences with Bourjois polishes?
Thanks for looking and commenting!

How funny i also bought this polish this weekend! You beat me to the review, really interesting to see another point of view on it!
ReplyDeleteYour cuticles look really healthy, how do you keep them so nice?
Yeah, I've seen this polish on a lot of blogs lately. I guess they're discontinued everywhere. =D My cuticles have good and not so good days. I use my Blue Cross Cuticle remover regularly, keep them moisturized and that's about it.
DeleteI don't like the polishes, the brush is too big, they are overpriced, not unique enough and the bottles don't fit in my Helmer
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. The brush is ridiculously big. And I can see how this polish bottle would be a problem for helmer owners. =) It's almost as big as the Eiffel tower.
DeleteI love it. I love Bourjois generally though. Three Euros is a bargain.
ReplyDeleteI am curious...
ReplyDeleteThree euros is a pretty good deal. We don't get such fat discounts over here. I think those Bourjois are around 8 EUR in our stores.
ReplyDeleteI'm also spoiled by Essence. It's funny how in the past when I didn't know any better, I had no choice but pay 8 EUR for a polish/lipstick/you name it and now forking out such a sum seems a waste of money. Needless to say, when a certain high-end shade catches my eye, I don't mind waiting for a decent, more affordable dupe, which I know will eventually be readily available.
I wish I had easier access to Catrice. A few online stores in Spain stock it, but I prefer to buy makeup knowing what I'm getting instead of buying blind so I don't get disappointed or anything.
ReplyDeleteThe only Bourjois nail polish I like/buy/use is Beige Glamour. It's a darker nude, a kind of 'meaty' colour :) I like it because it's elegant, work-appropriate, matches my outfit/make up almost always, looks good on shorter and longer nails... It's subtle, but not as 'nude' as usual, lighter nudes :)
ReplyDeleteQuality-wise it's good, but nothing extraordinary. Good coverage, good brush. It is a bit pricey, though. I haven't tried any other B. polishes. None of the other colours seem worth the price.
I think I've only tried a Bourjois polish once before! Although I like some of their colours, they are way too pricey for what they are! They cost £5.99 here and I can buy 2 Barry M's or a China Glaze for that! But I have to say, this colour is really pretty and I would have bought it too for 3 euros :)
ReplyDeleteLep, ampak nič posebnega. Tudi meni so običajno predragi oziroma predragi za to, kar ponujajo; čudne čopiče in dolgočasne barve.
ReplyDeleteWell, the colour is definetly amazing :) I want to try Bourjois nail polishes so bad, I've seen a lot of pretty colours!
ReplyDeletebeautiful colour!
ReplyDeleteI've some bourjouis polishes. I prefer rimmel, they are cheaper, but are nice.
I quite like the big, flat brush in these Bourjois polishes, but here they cost more that OPI, so no, no way.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this shade of blue. Lovely mani and thanks for showing it.
ReplyDeleteDang, i saw this one at the shop today and considered buying it, but didn't in the end :( the color is so gorgeous! I guess i need it in the end, gotta pick it up before it's gone *shops run out of shades like this so fast in Moscow and only boring reds and pinks are left :(*
