Essence Nail Art Cracking Top Coat in Crack Me Pearly Pink

You could already see Essence Crack Me! nail polish shades on my blog and I'm showing you another one from the same line today although it's a bit different this time. This one contains glitter!

Essence, Crack Me!, Pearly Pink, 1 coat (over Mahnattan Lotus Effect W65)

I imagined this would look good over my new Manhattan Lotus Effect nail polish in W65 and it does, but the cracks aren't really visible here. Even I couldn't tell if it cracked or not... P.S: It DOES crack though. Choosing contrasting colors when using crackle nail polish is the key, right? Still, I like the way this manicure turned out. I can't say if I like it better with or without top coat (below with Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer).

I really wanted to like Pearly Pink - not only because I don't wear pink often, but also because it's a nice change of pace to see a glittery crackle. I do like it like this, over darker purple, but I'm not too crazy about it when worn over lighter shade. For a crackle polish which needs to be applied in one coat, it's too thin and not opaque enough. I'd also like the glitter to be more dense.

  1. I usually hate crack polishes, but this one is very pretty and looks very good with the base you used.

  2. I didn't like it either...:( Even though I tried it over white and black too, sadly it just didn't work for me.

  3. V taki kombinaciji izgleda super, čeprav dvomim, da bi mi bil všeč na kontrastni podlagi. Pač nisem oseba za krekle. :$

  4. Firstly... I already had the Silver crackling polish and I pretty much hate the thing (even tough it works quite well when sponged).
Secondly... I don't like pink polish, almost exclusively
But, I couldn't resist to try this one (at the price, it really doesn't take much to persuade me;)
I looks quite funky, when you use it over contrasting polishes - greens, teals and blues. It takes a good shake and a bit of trial and error, but I got the cracks to be pretty good... And with a good layer of topcoat, the glitter looks stunning.

  5. I'm not much into cracking polish, and I'm seeing your post AFTER I bought crack me pearly pink! So It worked for me though it was the first time I used a cracking polish, I applied it over teal and the glitter was dense and the consistence wasn't thin, I'd say the may be you got a bad bottle?? Well I'd live the link to show you my results, but I won't because of your policy about links in the comments. Love!

    1. I don't allow links that have nothing to do with my blog or posts. I'd love to see your photos of it! =)
