You expected this cornflower-periwinkle comparison, didn't you? Just like with the previous FNUG nail polish comparisons, I checked my collection and picked a few shades that looked similar. I don't own ChG Periwinkle and Essie Lapis of Luxury anymore, so I couldn't add them to the comparison. At first I thought FNUG Trendsetter is a periwinkle creme, but it's obviously a light cornflower blue... Check it out!

Here are the color drops. I choose the polishes for comparison based on my color drop database and you know it's hard to compare polishes based on photos. And even worse - based on one photo. That's still the only way for me, 'cause it would take forever for me to go through my actually nail polish stash and look for similar polishes.Trendsetter looks a lot like Collection 2000 BMX Bandit or Essence Blues of Being Cool, but not so much in real life. It's actually closer to Catrice It's All I Can Blue.

Periwinkle, cornflower, periwinkle, cornflower. =D

Trendsetter looks pretty much like It's All I Can Blue with white polish added to it. A bit toned down and not so much in your face. The similarity betweeen BMX Bandit and Blues of Being Cool ends here. They are much more purple.

I'm not gonna ask you which one is your favorite. I will only ask this: cornflower or periwinkle?

Here's something new from FNUG (again) - Festive Collection 2012 with 3 new shades.

Thanks for looking and commenting!

For me I think it's cornflower but the periwinkles are looking great too!
ReplyDeleteCornflower! I haven't found my perfect cornflower blue yet, but I'm sure I'll some time :D
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will too. Just keep your eyes open. =)
DeleteKiller heels *.*
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite from the new collection as well. Really looks festive, but edgy at the same time. Love it.
DeleteLove the new collection!
ReplyDeleteI adore, adoooooooooooooore periwinkle/cornflower shades!
ReplyDelete2nd. =D
DeleteCornflower for me. You do such an amazing job with colour names, I always get names like these mixed up. Same as lilac and lavender, which is which?
ReplyDeleteHeehee... I just follow my own color logic. I'm not saying it's right, but that's how I see it. I see lilac, for example, as a purple-ish pink, lavender is just a washed out purple.
DeleteI love them all <3
ReplyDeleteWhat i've been considering for ages as "periwinkle" is actually cornflower! now i know is cornflower the name of that tone, dumb me... besides cool-neutral reds and cool toned light blues, Cornflower looks amazing on me, really flattering.I think i haven't post anything like this, because my camera never catches the color right.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that's a correct way to organize colors (or to name them)...it's just my own color logic. =) Just to clarify that. I think you need to get some more cornflower shades then. =D
DeleteFNUG is doing such a great job!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this -- it has helped me, and I'm not using the nail polish for nails. :)
