You've seen this type of product on my blog before, but never from this brand: PERL was founded in 2011 in Montreal and it offers a variety of nail polish strip designs. They call their strips a revolutionary nail product that eliminates the hassles of drying, polishing and pollution. Just like all the other nail polish strips/stickers on the market.
But are these PERL nail polish strips any better than the rest of them? Read on.

Just apply PERL nail fashion strips on top of your existing manicure! If you feel like going back, peel it off and your nail polish below will still be fresh!
Whether you have a fresh manicure or slightly chipped nail polish PERL nail fashion strips will become your strongest ally for a flawless change to traditional nail polish.
A PERL manicure is literally effortless, surprisingly quick, smudge-free, and refreshingly attractive for today’s busy young women to look incredible no matter the time or place.'' (Perl Fashion)

I was lucky enough to receive a sample of PERL strips in Jungle Queen for review. This is what came in the package: 20 nail fashion strips (good for two manicures), cuticle stick, mini file and instructions.

Here's how to apply the stickers:
1 - Choose (choose the adhesive strip that fits perfectly for each nail)
2 - Peel (remove the plastic film and the silver-plated part of the strip)
3 - Apply (align the strip along the line of each cuticle; rub the strip onto each nail in a circular motion; extend strip while smoothing it evenly)
4 - File (fold back exceeding strip and gently file it downwards)

Here is how the PERL nail strips looked on my nails:

I like the fact these strips are really thin and flexible. I think that's the main reason I had no problems applying them and they didn't create any wrinkles like it happens with some other (thicker, non-flexible) stickers. The instructions say to extend the strip while rubbing it on the nail and I think I extended them a bit too much. Totally my bad - that's why you can see a bit of my nail tip.
PERL nail polish strips come in 2 small packages with 10 strips in each. This was the first time I actually used all of the 10 strips like they were meant to be used. Usually I have to choose between the sizes and end up with a bunch of stickers I can't use anymore 'cause they're either too small or ridiculously big. Well, you can always use the big ones by cutting them, but what are you gonna do with the small ones? I had to cut the big stickers in the PERL package as well, but these were by far the best size for my nails.
I don't like to wear stickers on my nails when I have to go somewhere (when I don't just stay at home) because I'm always worried they'll lift or peel off and then I'd be nervous as hell. This time I didn't worry as much. They felt right so I applied them to all of my nails and wore them to work. They didn't lift and they didn't peel off. Don't think you'll be able to wear them for days, but they are somewhat durable.
All in all, I think these are my favorite nail stickers so far. They lasted on me for a whole day without problems and what's most important - due to their thinness, wearing them didn't feel uncomfortable. They might as well be the best option when it comes to price: a package of these strips costs $9.00, which means it will cost you a $4.50 per manicure. Pretty good deal compared to some other stickers out there, plus the quality is great.

The design you got is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering, do they peel off ok? I was thinking they might be a good base for glitter
ReplyDeleteI had no problems peeling them off.
DeleteSo cute! They DO look really flexible and easy to apply...
DeleteOMG, they look fantastic!
ReplyDeletewow, they look great! also does the eye makeup in the promo picture! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat I love, is that they are made of actual nail polish. I am tempted to try them out, the price is ok, since you get two manicures out of it. Thanks for the info.
Kind regards
Wow they look great! Great review :)
ReplyDeleteI received a set of these to review also. I totally agree with your review. I really like how thin and flexible these strips are and they are comfortable to wear. They are also the cheapest option I've found because you get two full manicures out of the set, unlike other brands that only provide 16 strips. Thanks for the excellent review.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or do your nails look shorter?
ReplyDeletePS: I've been stalking your blog for like a year now. Love your posts!
