Sometimes you're avoiding something and then you realize you've wanted it from the start. This was the case with Catrice I Wear My Sunglasses at Night nail polish. I never even gave it a second look while it was available in the Catrice core line. It seemed like another 'not a plain black, but not far from it' shade. I have enough of those, I thought. I bought it anyway, when my local drug store got some discontinued Catrice shades (this one was amongst them) and reduced the price a bit. How wrong could I go for 2€ and knowing this polish still has the good old brush?

I Wear Sunglasses at Night is one of those shades that never look as good on the photos as they look in real life. It's quite boring and mediocre when you look at it here, but that's not the case in reality. This might become one of my 'go to' shades (like Guppy 64) which I put on when I don't feel like experimenting with other colors and trying to match my nails with what I wear. This will go with everything.
The quality of this polish is OK, but it definitely could be better. I didn't have any ,major problems with the application - just some bald spots. I couldn't really blame it on bad opacity, since I only applied 2 coats, so I guess I must be the formula. I don't mind though. I love this one. =)
Do you have a favorite 'not a plain black, but not far from it' shade? Which one is it?

ReplyDeleteI got this, too, and was totally disappointed. You hardly can see the green and pink shimmer. I personally don't like polishes that are that close to black. I mean, why wear these when they cannot be distinguished in most if the light situations. ;)

ReplyDeleteWow, your nails were so long in that Guppy post! I have this nail polish too, but mine is quite sheer. I get away with two coats, but thicker ones :) I love it too nevertheless :) In my book, S-he 345 also falls into this 'not a plain black, but not far from it' category. It's black with gold and silver glitter. I quite like that one too.

ReplyDeleteKupila sem ga in je seveda sedel na mizi celo večnost, predno sem ga nanesla na nohte. Vmes sem prebrala precej slabih kritik in razočaranj blogerk, da je videti veliko bolje v steklenički, na nohtih pa je bolj blah. No, mene je na nohtih čisto navdušil. Samo jaz imam res rada te črne s twistom. Love them. Pa še stari čopič je zakon.
ReplyDeleteTa lak že mam neki časa in sm čist navdušena nad njim. Čeprav se mi zdi, da na slikah barva bleščic ne pride prav do izraza...v glavnem js sm čist zalublena v njega in ga ne dam za nič na svetu :D
