It took me a lot of time, but I finally did it. I tinted my eyebrows. =) I think brows are very important when it comes to the look of the whole face and when you do them right, they can make all the difference. I do my brows every morning: first I comb them with clean mascara brush, fill them in with an eyeshadow and fix them with gel mascara. I wanted to see if I can darken them so I wouldn't have to fill them in every morning. That's why I bought RefectoCil Eyelash and Eyebrow Tint and RefectoCil Oxidant 3% Developer Cream.
Since I dye my hair dark brown I chose RefectoCil in Natural Brown (shade #3). You can choose between 9 shades and a bleaching paste. Here's what you get: 15 mL of color, a plastic stick (for mixing/application) and instructions.
This is what you'll need for tinting your eyebrows.
How I tinted my eyebrows with RefectoCil Eyelash and Eyebrow Tint:
* I dipped a cotton swab into skin care oil and applied it around my brows. The oil prevents the paste from tinting your skin.
* I mixed 1 cm of tint and approximately 10 drops of developer cream in a glass jar into a creamy paste (using the plastic stick that came with the tint).
* I started with the application of the paste immediately. I used art brush as an applicator and tried to be as precise as possible at this step. I left the paste on my brows for 10 minutes.
* After 10 minutes, I took a dry cotton pad and removed the paste off my brows with one swipe. Then I took another cotton pad (this time it was a wet one) and rubbed my brows - to remove any excess of the paste. And that's that!
Here's the before and after the tinting with RefectoCil.
I really like the look of my brows after the tinting. They're darker without looking unnatural. I still have to fill them in, but not so much as I had to before. The instructions say the effect will last from 3-4 weeks and fade gradually. I approve!
I purchased RefectoCil Eyelash and Eyebrow Tint for €8.49 and RefectoCil Oxidant Cream Developer for €9.29. I purchased both in a local drug store.
Have you ever tried tinting your eyebrows or eyelashes? Are you planning to?
