Yet another shade from the MUA Nail Varnish line. I wish they took the time to name this one, 'cause all it's got is a number. Shade 23.
Make Up Academy (MUA), Shade 23, 2 coats
The first time I saw Shade 23 in real life, I though: what a nice shade of green. Olive, drab, army... call it whatever you want, it's beautiful. But the first big surprise followed. I opened the bottle and the worst kind of brush popped out. It immediately reminded me of iguana and I almost thought a freaking reptile is gonna come out of the bottle. I knew I was gonna have to cut it, so I closed the bottle to get my scissors. When I opened it again, the bristles got jammed in the cap and they weren't bothering me anymore.
Seriously, it looked just like the spikes on this iguana's back. I admit I freaked out a little too.
Other than my little brush incident, this polish looks very decent in all other aspects. Once the runaway bristles were taken care of, I had no problem with the brush. It was actually one of the most flexible MUA brushes so far. Although it did leave some brush strokes (that's why you always need some extra polish on your brush with these). The formula is pretty good and the polish has the potential to be a 1-coater. I used 2 as I always do. I'd say this polish comes closest to drab color and it reminds me of washed out army T-shirts. If you look closely, you can see silver microglitter in it. It's not really that visible on the nails though. I only wish this polish was a bit glossier once it dries. For £1, this one is definitely a keeper.
