Weekly Sum-Up #49

It's been long since I've last felt so very uninspired... I don't even wanna do this. But it's Sunday there's a list of links I should post. Meh, what the hell.

Even my cats feel it. Aishila is like ''leave me alone''...

...and Arya is saying ''bitch please''. The others ran away as soon as they saw me holding a camera. They live and learn.

What was on my nails in the last two weeks? Well, I wore some red, which is basically my go to color, but I also dug out this Essence Colour & Go nail polish shade in Galactic Black. You can read a full post about it HERE.

I also wore piCture pOlish in Cosmos which is a great blue shade. And it has a great name too.

My favorite lipbalm Vitaskin Medirepair has been discontinued and I'm on a hunt for a new favorite. I bought Melem lip balm which I like a lot, but it's not the thing I was looking for. I need something heavy duty in colder months or I immediately get dry lips. I heard some good things about Alverde lipbalm (I have the Vanilla/Mandarine one) but it's one of the worst I've had. It got grainy in texture and I don't like the scent either. Then I got two Terra Naturi lipbalms: Kamille & Jojoba and Sheabutter & Jojoba. Love the Sheabutter one, but it contains shimmer. So, the hunt continues.

My new triangle earrings. I'm starting to like stud earrings more and more. I can wear the dangling ones only when my hair is up in a ponytail or a bun otherwise it's just a pure mess. Got these on Ebay.

Still watching How I Met Your Mother although I was happy to hear the show is ending soon. One more season, but they could also wrap it up in this one, if you ask me. Who else loved Robin Daggers?

Posts of the week(s):

An old one, but a classic: The Swatchaholic and China Glaze DV8. So glad I own it. The photos are making me drool.

Mateja from Mateja's Beauty Blog shares her January Favorites with us. I really need to get my hands on that Maybelline concealer thingie. I've heard one too many good things about it.

Spektor's Nails posted a gorgeous Turquoise Stone - Water Spotted Manicure. Another thing for my 'to buy' list - spray hand sanitizer. This look is just too good to be true.

Damn, Elsa! Will you stop torturing me with gorgeous nail polish shades from the brands I've never even heard of? Chresy Col. 718 looks awesome. Your blog really is Like a Candy Store. Yummy.

Illamasqua I'mperfection nail polish swatches from All You Desire. I really can't pick my favorite. Can you?

The Nailasaurus posted swatches of the new Barry M Textured Nail Effects. Weird and cool looking and the same time, but the colors are perfect for spring.

Perfect squoval nails and purple, lit from within, nail polish. Mirma Natalia and Pupa 305 Violet Fuchsia. Love mixed with drool.

China Glaze Avant Garden collection swatches by The Nail Network. A very nice collection, but there's one shade that really stands out to me. I wanna wear Fancy Pants.

All the green nail polish lovers will drop their yaws when they see this one. Astor Fashion Studio in Charleston on Candy Glaze.

And last... I was featured on Nail Romance - Nail Romance with Nihrida

  3. Lushs Honey Trap lipbalm has been the savior for my lips the past two winters. Smells divine! Packaging is a bit horrible but the product makes up for it ^^

    1. Yeah, I have a problem with the lipglosses in pans. The use of fingers and especially if the nails are longer just doesn't appeal to me. =) But thanks for the recommendation anyway. =)

  4. I have the Calendula lipbalm from Alverde, and I absolutely love it. It is a bit grainy when you apply it, but it smooths out when you rub your lips together. And it's very heavy-duty, at least in my book, so it's perfect for winter.
Balea Urea lipbalm is also great, if you don't mind it being in a tube. I love this one also, but somehow I need to re-apply it more often than the Alverde Calendula one.
I am also a big fan of Rosal lipbalms. My favorites are Hydro Care, Sensitive, Milk&Honey, and Block&Roll (this one is intended for summer, but it works surprisingly well in the winter too).

    1. Have you tried the Vanille Mandarin one too? I love Balea Urea products and I would go and immediately buy it, if it was in a regular packaging. Rosal sounds great. I migt buy that one the next time I go on a lipbalm hunt.

    2. I tried it but I didn't like the scent, and it wouldn't absorb well. It just kind of sat there on my lips, doing nothing :) The Calendula one also doesn't smell great, but it's tolerable, and it really does the job. The Rosal ones are more 'light' and moisturizing compared to this one.
You could also try regular vaseline (I think someone else also recommended it). It usually comes in big jugs, but you can transport it into smaller packages (like empty lipbalm pans or sth, I use a clean miniature honey jar that I got with my tea in a patisserie :) if that's not too much of a hassle for you).
I hope you find something you like. It can be tiring when you have to try a a bunch of products to see what best works for you.
