''Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love - the deliria - blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.'' (source)
Good book, but nothing too special. It's the first from the Delirium trilogy and I'm already reading the second book called Pandemonium.
''Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.
Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious "errands"; she speaks many languages not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.
When one of the strangers—beautiful, haunted Akiva—fixes his fire-colored eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?'' (source)
Now that's one BEAUTIFUL book. Daughter of Smoke and Bone immediately became of the THE books for me. It's so well written and I can't wait to get my hands on the second (and the third) book - yep, another trilogy. Such a great one. I highly recommend to all fantasy lovers.
Natalie from Nailz Craze got my attention with two beautiful art manicures. First one is Dragon Fruit inspired nail art and the second one features delicate roses. I love them both.
It's always nice to see a good duochrome nail polish. Mirma Natalia did a great job photographing and capturing the beauty of Dance Legend Blue Chameleon nail polish.
I'm not to fond of indie nail polish brands (not counting a England), but if you're into it, Samarium's Swatches is the place for you. Sarah swatched Enchanted Polish Awesomeness and Seven Nation Army. They're both absolutely gorgeous. She also posted swatches of 8 KBShimmer shades: Part I and Part II.
Wanna see perfect loooong nails? Then you better head on to Nailbamboo. Her photos of Golden Rose Rich Color #44 and Dance Legend Yellow Watermelon are to die for.
Lily from Rundum Schön posted swatches of the Essie DJ Play That Song Neon collection. DJ Play That Song and Bouncer, it's Me are my favorites.
My favorite layering of the week was a Revlon Royal + Max Factor Fantasy Fire by Nail Stories. It reminded me I really need to use the layering polishes that are just lying in my Helmer.
Fashion Polish posted swatches of 6 shades from the Zoya Stunning Collection. I don't see any must-haves or anything new, but the swatches are so nice...
