Weekly Sum-Up #57

Hello, hello! Look who's finally back. I'm sorry for the lack of posts in the last days... it's just been too damn hot. We had a heat wave here in Slovenia and the temperatures were as high as 40 degrees Celsius (104 °F). The furry ones felt it too. Lisa though it would be best to sleep in the bathroom bidet. If it fits... why not.

I'm also very excited to tell you I have two new family members. Two female guinea pigs. They're both long haired and oh so cute. I used to have a guinea pig when I was about 10 years old, but I do admit I don't know a lot about them. I'm learning though. =) I got them a week ago, bought them a big cage, a house to hide in and lots of food. They eat ALL the time. And the sounds they make are the most adorable thing I've ever heard. They're both still quite shy but I'm working on it. The gray-white one is called Peppa...

...and the wilder black-brown one is called Pippi. Don't worry I'm not choking her, I just had to held her to take a picture. These two are the only photos I have of them - I didn't want to scare them with my camera. If you're a guinea pig owner and you have any good advice for me, I'd be happy to hear it. =)

What was on my nails? I finally did some layering. I have a lot of polishes which look best when layered, but I always forget about them. NYX Lapis + Sinful Hottie

One of the polishes I was wearing in the last few days was also my piCture pOlish collaboration shade Freya's Cats. I'm so happy for all the positive comments you posted on my previous post. Thank you so much! I guess it is a kind of dream come true for a nail polish lover to get a chance like this... and I'm very grateful for it.

What I'm not grateful about at all is photo theft. Nabi stole my photo of FNUG holographic polishes and is using it to sell their Hologram polishes. They rotated the photo and used their bad photoshop skills to turn the background black (which means erasing my watermark with it). Yes, I'm not happy about them stealing my photo for their profit, but what bothers me even more is the fact they're misleading the buyers. It's not the same polish, not the same thing at all. FNUG holographic polishes are one of the most strong when it comes to the holo effect, so don't be fooled. Sloppy, sloppy work, Nabi!

New in my make up drawer: I purchased Essence shimmer powder from the Ticket to Paradise TE. It was on sale for 1,99 € and I though it looked rather nice. Why not. I also bought Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara and got The Eraser Perfect & Cover Foundation for free. I know it's not the same thing as the Eraser Concealer, but it's the closest thing I can get here in Slovenia.

What I'm reading: I actually read both of these already and they're both OK, but I expected more. I prefer Harlan Coben...
Patterson Books

What I'm watching: True Blood Season 6. Not that interesting anymore, but still watchable. Some of the main characters are really getting on my nerves - Sookie and Bill... even Eric is weird. What's happening?
True Blood Season 6

Shameless. A story about the most functional unfunctional family. I don't love it, but I still can't help but to watch.

America's Next Top Model Cycle 20. I enjoy watching this crappy show although it's getting worse cycle by cycle. I understand they're trying to make it interesting for the viewers, but who the hell has a fashion show by walking down the side of a building?! It's like Fear Factor in ''modeling'' world. And Tyra is now not only a model, bussiness woman, actor, singer, book author, TV host, producer, self taught expert on giving advice and who knows what else, but also a make up artist? Come on, Tyra.

Posts of the week(s):

Gritty polishes are taking over. Check out this P2 Seductive stunner on Love. Varnish, chocolate and more...

Nailbamboo has gorgeous nails and every nail polish looks impeccable on her nails. My favorite posts from her in the last few weeks are: Dance Legend TermoTrio #1, Pink Up #77 Blue, a England Sleeping Palace and a England Avalon. Beautiful!

Very Emily did a review of Pupa Crazy Crystals set. I'm loving the color and the final look. I guess it's not very comfortable to wear, but it looks adorable.

I'm not that into indie nail polish (with the exception of a England) but when I saw swatches of the Enchanted Polish Time to Pretend Collection on Fashion Polish, my jaw dropped. Duochrome AND holographic at the same time? It's genius!

Natalie from Nailz Craze posted a great Nail Art Stamping Decal Tutorial which basically shows you how to create a nail decal with stamping tool. It looks great and I have to try that soon. She also posted swatches of the Dance Legend Termo nail polish in #170. I still have to swatch this one, but the colors won't show on my nails... at least not both at the same time.

For those of you who enjoy looking at beautiful nail polish photos (I guess that's all of you) Coewless Nail Polish Blog is the place to go. Her Ozotic 624 and Dance Legend Amethyst posts are to die for.

Sarah from Samarium's Swatches posted photos of the polishes from the Milani Fantastical Plumage Collection. I'm already head over heels in love with Blue Jay.
