Review & Swatches: Born Pretty Store BK Crystal Sand Nail Polish #18

Here's a nice little polish from Born Pretty Store that's perfect for holidays. Red shimmery shades scream Christmas like no other color. Or is that just me? Sadly this beauty doesn't have a name. I'm just gonna call it the BK #18.

It's such a shame my camera didn't want to photograph this beauty properly. It's actually more red in real life and far prettier than on my photos. It's described as crystal sand nail polish which means it dries matte-ish. It doesn't feel gritty on the nails though, so don't expect the true rough texture or finish. The formula and application are both great. Brush is nothing special, but OK to work with. What I love the most is the opacity of this polish. It's opaque in 1 thicker coat.

I applied a layer of top coat (Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer High Gloss) to see how it looks with a glossy finish. I loved it before, but I absolutely adore it with top coat. It looks like Ruby Pumps for dark souls. =) No, really... it's not much like these photos.

My Nikon DSLR to the rescue! Here's a better presentation of what it looks like in real life. It's more red and not so plum-ish, but you get the idea. It looks like it's lit from within and the edges are dark... so gorgeous. I think this is one of those rare shades that would look good on anyone. Pretty and flattering. I love it!
