Women Beauty in Twilight

Here's another beautiful Beauty Women nail polish shade I found in Tedi Discount Store. It's a bit of a shadeshifter and it's called Twilight
Women Beauty in Twilight

A little bit of purple here, a little bit of green there. Base is purple with pink shimmer and it shifts to green-ish gold on the edges. Not the strongest duochrome, but not the worst I've seen either.

Beauty Women, Twilight, 4 coats
Women Beauty in Twilight

Twilight is one of those sheer duochromes - it needs 4 coats for full opacity (but I'm sure some of you would manage to get away with 3 layers). At first I thought of layering it over some other color, but changed my mind. I wanted to see it by itself and see how many coats it will take. Well, it turns out it took too much for my liking. It's pretty, but 4 coats? Come on. It dried in a reasonable amount of time, but then the bubbles started to form on my nails... Maybe I'll try layering next time around.

Duochromes. I guess I'm ''too old for this s*it''.

Women Beauty in Rainforest

Sometimes you find the most amazing s*it in the most weird places. Like this emerald shimmery goodness I found in Tedi Discount Store while browsing for art material. Haven't heard of the Beauty Women brand before, but still can't deny it's absolutely gorgeous green with the most perfect name - Rainforest
Women Beauty in Rainforest

Rainforest is an emerald green shade with amazing green to yellow-ish gold shimmer. Seriously, it looks freakin' breathtaking.

Beauty Women is a very much unknown brand, but from what I've been able to read on the bottle label - it's a part of the Badgequo company (home of the Body Collection and Technic; another two rather unknow brands). The polish was made in China, although I believe it was formulated in England. The list of ingredients looks OK, it's big 3 free and the polish smells like any other regular polish I own. It has a round brush with oddly cut bristles, but it's not hard to work with. And the best of all: it's opaque in only 2 coats, it doesn't stain nails and it's only 1€ for 12 mL.
Women Beauty in Rainforest

This shade is perfect for any green lover out there. I don't wear green nail polish in public unless it's a very dark or muted shade of green and even I was attracted to this one. It's really special and I'm sorry I couldn't capture it in its full beauty.

Honestly, is there any other emerald green shade as beautiful as this one?

Essence Colour & Go in Here's My Number

Here's my newest Essence Colour & Go nail polish shade - after I've found the beauty by the name The Boy Next Door I've realized I need to check the other colors as well. The one that seemed most perfect for me was the new sparkle sand effect shade called Here's My Number.
Essence Colour & Go in Here's My Number

Here's My Number is a shade filled with gunmetal grey shimmer and holographic glitter. The base of this polish is rather sheer and it needs 3+ coats for full opacity. It dries into a gritty finish and is quite top coat thirsty.
Essence Colour & Go in Here's My Number

Essence, Colour & Go, Here's My Number, 1 coat over black
Essence Colour & Go in Here's My Number

I used black (a England Camelot) as a base since I don't have the patience to layers this polish until it's opaque enough. Plus, three or more coats of this polish and I would die removing it. Foil removal technique or not. If I count out the sheerness, this is a very nice polish. It's just right up my alley and it doesn't feel to gritty when wearing it. It applied nicely and dried quickly. I used a coat of top coat over it, to seal the tips, but it didn't make much difference in the way this polish looks. It's just too top coat thirsty.
Essence Colour & Go in Here's My Number

Another way to pimp up the nails for those of us who like dark shades on our nails. Shiny (due to light reflecting shimmer and glitter) and yet dull (thanks to the sand effect) mani. I love it! Although I doubt of ever wearing it on its own.

piCture pOlish - Frosting by Cosmetic Cupcake

Guess what. Frosting isn't only for cakes, now it's for nails as well. Here's a piCture pOlish collaboration shade Frosting which was created with Chelle from Cosmetic Cupcake
piCture pOlish - Frosting by Cosmetic Cupcake
''Frosting is a pastel milky pink creme full of silver, magenta and violet glitters plus with a little shade you will find a wonderful surprise - beautiful silver hearts - just magic!  And yes these sprinkles really take the cake!'' (piCture pOlish)

piCture pOlish, Frosting, 3 coats
piCture pOlish - Frosting by Cosmetic Cupcake

Frosting is everything you'd expect it to be (based on the name of the polish). The colors are very cute and girly, the amount, size and shape of the glitter is just right and there are little silver hearts in it for additional cuteness. It was fairly easy to apply and I didn't have to fish for the hexagon glitter. To be completely honest, I didn't fish for the heart glitter either... Based on some other glitter polish I've used, the application of this one was pretty much a piece of cake. I used three coats for my swatches.

You can see Chelle's original Frosting post HERE

You can buy Frosting nail polish on piCture pOlish online store for AU$12.00. Check out their Network Page to find the sellers near you.

Review: Born Pretty Store Stamping Image Plate QA61

Stamping, anyone? I know stamping has been around for a while and it's not as interesting as it used to be, but it's still one of the easiest ways to pimp your nails without much trouble. It doesn't require artistic skills and the results are almost always close to amazing. A little practice makes perfect. =)

I got this BornPretty image plate in QA61 for review a couple of months ago and I must say I should be practicing stamping more often.
Born Pretty Store Stamping Image Plate QA61

The plate comes with a protective plastic wrap and the most important thing - the edges of the plate aren't sharp. No worries of getting cut while working with it!
Born Pretty Store Stamping Image Plate QA61

I thought it would be best to use one of the polishes I got from Born Pretty Store as a base for my stamping. Now when I see the result, I think it would look better with creme polish underneath... You can also see (on my pointer) I haven't used image plates and stamper in a while. Sorry for that. =)

Base: Born Pretty Holo Polish #12
Stamping Polish: China Glaze 2030
Top Coat: Konad

Base: Born Pretty Holo Polish #11
Stamping Polish: China Glaze Millennium
Top Coat: Konad
Born Pretty Holo Polish #11 + China Glaze Millennium + Image Plate QA61

Born Pretty Holo Polish #11 + China Glaze Millennium + Image Plate QA61

I can't see any difference between this stamping image plate and the other ones in my collection (besides the shape of it). It works well and the pattern comes out crips and clear. You can buy this image plate on Born Pretty Store (here's a direct link to the plate QA61) for $2.99.

Are you a fan of stamping nail art or do you prefer other ways of enhancing the look of your nails?

Nail Polish Comparisons

There's a special little sticky note on my computer desktop where I keep the names of the polishes I think look alike. When I used China Glaze Galactic Gray, I though it looks a bit like a England Fated Prince, Born Pretty Holo Polish reminded me of Saint George and so on. Today I finally took the time and checked them out side by side. Only four duos made it to my list this time, but I still hope you find it useful.
a England Fated Prince VS China Glaze Galactic Gray
Fated Prince VS Galactic Gray - the holographic shimmer in China Glaze is finer and not so strong as in Fated Prince. Galactic Gray also appears to have more purple in it.
a England Saint George VS Born Pretty Holo Polish #12
Saint George VS Holo Polish #12 - Saint George is darker and more vibrant, but the holo shimmer appears to be stronger in Born Pretty polish.
Gosh Black Passion VS Beauty UK Black Denim
Black Passion VS Black Denim - I thought they were dupes, but as you can see, the silver shimmer in Black Denim is bigger and shines through more than in Black Passion.
piCture pOlish Cosmos VS piCture pOlish Freya's Cats
Cosmos VS Freya's Cats - they're both blue shades with scattered holographic shimmer. I just wanted to let you know the difference between them. Freya's Cats is more on the jelly side, while Cosmos looks really deep.

If you have any other suggestions for side by side nail polish comparisons, let me know!

New in My Closet

I think it's pretty obvious I love leather imitation, lace and fake fur collars based on my latest closet-buys. And black. It's an ongoing affection... kind of a signature style of mine.

Look By Bipa Special Effect in Bronze Changer

And I'm back! With a stunning polish I bought during my short trip to Graz, Austria. This is my first bottle of Look by Bipa nail polish and I chose a shade from the Special Effect line called Bronze Changer
Look By Bipa Special Effect in Bronze Changer

Bronze Changer is a duochrome shade and it's one of those that look way better in the bottle than on my nails. I need more curve! It's a bronze shade that shifts to gold, green and blue. It's not a Ludurana type of duochrome when it comes to color and the shifting of it, but it's still very pretty. Plus, it has another great feature I like VERY much - it's completely opaque in 2 coats.

Bronze Changer comes in a 5 mL bottle and costs 1,99€ which is a good price IMO. It has a round brush that's really nothing too special. Not bad, but could be better. The formula is good but the polish appears to be a bit frosty looking, so you have to be careful with the application if you don't want visible brush strokes. What I like the most about it is the opacity. There's no need to apply this polish over black base, since it's opaque in 2 coats. Close to perfect. I took photos of it on a cloudy day which makes the color show a bit better, but you can't see how shiny this polish really is. It's a stunner alright.

(Essence)
Essence Superheroes Trend Edition

I guess people at Essence realized we ladies need more bling for our nails. So, here comes a brand new trend edition in November dedicated to nails only. Not a very game-changing edition, but I appreciate the idea. Thermo effect nail polish looks nice and I would totally get the sand one if I didn't already have Beauty UK Grit FX in Printworks. Oil Slick shade looks very nice, but I have a feeling it will be more or less disappointing in real life. Holo and chrome? Sure. Glitter? I think I'll pass. You can keep the other little props too.

What do you think of the Superheroes trend edition?
