White Wedding with Gold Stamping

Here's my last nail art-ish post manicure for the year 2013. I'm spending my New Year's Eve alone (well, not completely alone) since my SO has to work... but it's all good. I think I'm gonna slip into my bed and watch a movie. =)

So, first of all here's the inspiration - I found this Essie Marshmallow post by Colores de Carol and fell in love with the stamping manicure she created. I used piCture pOlish White Wedding as a base, China Glaze 2030 for stamping and Konad image plate M60. I used a layer of Konad top coat to wrap it up.

Too bad it's not as visible as in real life. The weather was weird today, so I couldn't take photos of it outdoors. These will have to do...

Cheers and all the best in 2014!

Misslyn Crackling Silver Top Coat

This will be one of the long-overdue nail polish posts. I can't even remember when I bought this cracking nail polish by Misslyn. I can remember it looked so cool on the sample nail (or whatever it's called) in the store - kind of like a snake skin finish. Well, it looks NOTHING like snake skin on my nails. Boo!

I expected snake skin and got the giraffe pattern. Not my thing, but its quality is OK. It applies nicely, the brush is OK, it dries relatively fast... I may try it with black in the future, but who knows. I always forget about these layering polishes anyways.

Konad Nail Dressor Stickers

I got these new Konad Nail Dressor stickers from Licila.si not too long ago. I always though Konad was an american product and at first I tought these were some kind of fake Konad stickers... 'engrish' on the packaging got me suspicious and when I couldn't find them on the Konad website either I was sure this product was as fake as a two dollar bill. I had to be completely sure, so I contacted Konad CS and found out they're actually a legit Konad product. Yay! =)

Notice the engrish description? Hee hee.

Every package comes with 18 nail stickers, a plastic stick and a file. Application of these stickers is easy: you just peel them off the plastic and place them on your nails. The smoother your nails, the smoother the finish will be. I suggest a light buffing if you have very visible ridges like I do. These stickers are very thin and soft. At first they stick to the nails lightly but with time the adhesive power becomes stronger. My nails aren't smooth enough for these to look good, but if you have smooth nails and wanna try chrome nails without wearing falsies, this is the best solution for you.

What do you think of these stickers? Would you wear them?

What Has Happened, Luna?

So, I though I own the most gorgeous blurple holographic nail polish in the whole world... well, at least I did own it at some point. Remember Sancion Angel in Luna? Photos in my original post aren't there anymore and frankly, I don't know how to get them back - other than manual way (but that would take just too much time). Check it out HERE. Remember this beauty? See how perfect and blurple it is.
Sancion Angel Luna

I was checking my nail polish collection after the latest blog sale and found this:
Sancion Angel Luna

Yes, it's the same polish! I guess it lost its original mojo and just went blah. Luna didn't get enough love from me and died. And she was so pretty... Yeah, sure, she's pretty now, but before - she was gorgeous. If I remember correctly this polish used to be a 1-coater. Now it's a 2-coater.

Has this ever happened to you?

Dance Legend - Termo no. 173

Here's the last Dance Legend nail polish shade from my first round of Dance Legend reviews. This is one of the color changing shades from the Termo collection and it doesn't have a name - just a number, 173. P.S: There are 17 other shades in this collection. You can check them out HERE
Dance Legend Termo no. 173

Termo #173 is a tuquoise blue with pink flaky shimmer. The color doesn't really change with the change of temperature, it just gets lighter or darker.

This is how it looks when the temperature of your nails (hands) is low...

...and this is how it looks when your nails are warm.
Dance Legend Termo no. 173

The application was nice and easy - love the formula and brush. The polish dried into a semi matte finish. The only thing I do not like with this one is poor opacity. With three coats it still looks see through when the color changes into the lighter shade of blue. It looks better when it's darker though.

You can buy this polish on Dance Legend online store for 13.00 USD. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

My 2013 Favorites

Here's a list of my favorite polishes of 2013 - the ones that were featured on my blog in this year. I could pick a lot more, but then it wouldn't be as interesting, right? It was hard to pick only 12, but these were all no brainers. Do you see any of your favorites amongst them?

Nail art isn't my forte... I still managed to pick three manicures that were my favorites. Nothing too fancy though. =) I like to keep it simple.

And three more cosmetic products I really like and will most probably use them a lot in the next year as well.

What are your 2013 favorites?

Weekly Sum-Up #61

Wazaaaap, people? Nothing much happening here. At least not anything you should know about... So, it was my B-day on Friday. And it was pretty much the worst ever. I had to go to the funeral and felt like crap all day. At least my sisters didn't forget about it, like one of my brothers did. Yeah, well that's how it goes in our family. =) Too many siblings.

Aishila's health (or the lack of it) was one of the reasons I've been feeling bad lately. She caught a cold, so I got her some antibiotics. Then she stopped eating and was really apathetic. She didn't come to sleep with me at nights and she basically ignored me the whole time. I'm not sure if it was the illness or the fact I forced a pill down her throat every morning and evening...

She's doing better now. 10 days of pills are over and now we're friends again. She's eating and looks more interested than before. That's always a good sign. I'm happy as well, since this time my vet bill wasn't as high as it usually is.

Talking about animals and appetite. Are guinea pigs ever full? Like, EVER? Pippi and Peppa eat like it's their last day on earth. All  the effing time. At one point, I was afraid to even pass their cage... just from hearing the sound ''wiiiik, wiiiiiiiiiiiik''. How much food can you eat, you little pig? Don't let me start on their fur. It's falling out like crazy and it's all over the place. They're far more high maintenance than I'm used to with cats...

My dear BF took me on a little trip to Graz again. Ikea was there and I was there... soooooo. Long story short - I got another Helmer and Trensum mirror. My blog sale was really helpfull, but I still own a lot of make up and polish, so I needed a new Helmer really badly. They're both full... and I'm a little embarrassed because I once said I wouldn't get another one. Meh, embarrassement is temporary and polish is forever, right?

I wanted to re-create a certain eye makeup look (can't find the original photo anymore) and it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to look. I know I've gotten so lazy when it comes to make up and that's the reason I decided to post it anyway. See, I even ''I took the time to glue tiny pieces of hair to my eyes, trying really hard to impress you.''. You know who said those words? =)

I got rid of some nail polish and got some new bottles at the same time. The one that really impressed me was the one I got from Born Pretty Store. It doesn't really have a name, but if you missed on the original post and want to read it, here it is - BK #18. My sister just borrowed it today and I have a feeling I won't get it back anytime soon. Phee hee.

Mont Bleu surprised me with the best package ever. Jewellery, nail file, hair brush with Swarovski crystals, bracelet... So many gorgeous things in one packet. I know I'm a little biased when it comes to their company, but when it comes to their crystal nail files - they're THE best. Ask anyone. If you wanna try them, Design Glassware by Mont Bleu is where you can buy them. And all the other pretty stuff.

It's official. I have no control of my 'boot buying' impulses. Should I hide? Damn. Boots on the left are from Deichmann and the ones on the right are 'no brand' boots... and they go by the name Selma. Who knew.

Fall sunsets are the best. I know it's winter here on the northern hemisphere, but these were taken in Fall. Featuring the tree I love the most ('cause it's on almost all my sunset photos).

Breaking Bad. I love you, Bryan. And I love you, Aaron. Great actors, great show. Like, seriously. Bitch!

This is just for fun... Here are my lady crushes: Rihanna (although she occasionally gets on my nerves with her attitude), Natalia Kills (love her lyrics and her look) and Cheryl Cole (her music sucks, but she's the most beautiful woman ever). Who's your lady crush?

Posts of the week(s):

Fashion Polish published a bunch of polish-gazmic posts in the last couple of weeks. Just check out her Fun Lacquer Princess Collection review, swatches of the Zoya Cashmeres and Satins Collections,  her photos of the new piCture pOlish Collaboration shades and her a England Ballerina Collection post. So much awesomeness on one blog.

This Distressed Nail Art by Chalkboard Nails has obviously got a lot of fans. I've seen so many 'distressed' nails lately... Sarah knows what she's doing. And her stamping skills are just as amazing as you can see in her Snuggly Pink Christmas Sweater post.

Another one who knocked my socks off with her nail art skills was The Nailasaurus. I loved her Hunger Games: Catching Fire Inspired nail art. And her post on the Revlon by Marchesa Nail Appliques as well.

Anutka from Wacky Laki posted a beautiful winter manicure in her PolisHaus Spectrum Snowflakes post. Love the polish and the nail art. Adorable!

I think I need to bow down to Eva from Coeweless Nail Polish Blog. Her Grinch manicure has left me speechless. You really need to see it to believe it. She did an amazing job!

All Lacquered Up posted swatches of the newest China Glaze Crinkled Chrome Collection. I actually like it and I think the silver one might make it to my nail polish collection.

Review: 100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel

After using mechanical types of face peelings for years, I finally gave an enzyme peel a chance. I've read some good reviews of 100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel and since it's one of the few enzyme peels available here in Slovenia, I decided to get it.
100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel

Ingredients: Kaolin (Kaolin Clay), Bromelain (Pineapple Enzyme), Papain (Papaya Enzyme), Ananas Sativus (Pineapple) Fruit Extract, Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Extract.

Direction: Mix 1 table spoon of water or lemon juice with 2 table spoons of powder and mix to form a paste. Apply mask onto skin (avoiding immediate eye area) and leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse off.
100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel

I followed the directions and mixed one little spoon of the powder with some water (making sure the paste wasn't too watery). I'm not sure where I read it and why, but you shouldn't use metal spoons with this powder, so I used a little plastic one. It made a paste which I applied all over my face concentrating on my nose, chin and forehead area. After 5 minutes the mask dried on my face, but I left it on for 10 minutes and then rinsed it off with lukewarm water. My skin was soft, smooth and just like it is after using a mechanical peel. I was impressed and surprised how well it works without any rubbing of the product on the skin. I like it a lot. I'm still gonna use up my mechanical peels - Balea Creme Peeling and AOK Seesand Peeling, but I also think I'm never gonna be without the enzyme peel from now on. A lot of people mention the smell of this powder. Well, it reminds me of those water-soluble vitamin tablets. It's not the most pleasant scent, but it doesn't really bother me that much.
100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel

I purchased 100% Pure Pineapple Enzyme Peel on Ekobutik (slovenian online store that ships internationally) for €17.00.

What kind of peels do you use (mechanical, enzyme, chemical...)?

Essie - Sexy Divide

You've seen this polish shade on my blog before, but I just have to post it one more time. My BF's best friend recently came back from a bussiness trip to USA. He brought everyone presents and he also got me a little something. Let me tell you, he's a guy who knows nothing of women's stuff and cosmetics... he went to the first CVS he saw to buy me a bottle of nail polish. And based on what he knows about me he picked Essie Sexy Divide. How awesome is he?
Essie Sexy Divide

My most favorite Essie nail polish shade. Purple shimmer goodness in a bottle.

The fact it needs 3 coats for full opacity bothers me a little, but the color is simply gorgeous and this bottle has a different kind of value to me. It's definitely an amazing shade, don't you think? Thank you for the lovely gift, Mitja!
