Swatches: Barry M Silk Nail Effects

Barry M has recently added a new nail polish line into their assortment. The collection is called Silk Nail Effects and it consists of 6 silky pastel shades.
''Silk's beautiful matte sheen gives nails a luxurious, chic finish. In a collection of pretty pastel shades inspired by nature, it's the perfect polish for a fresh take on Spring.'' (Barry M)
I have swatches of all six shades for you and I also added my opinion on these...

I like the formula of these polishes - it's consistent and just right (not goopy or too runny). It allows applying thin layers of polish which is great since all of these shades need 3 coats for full opacity. I was a bit worried these would be too frosty looking, but the shimmer in combination with matte-ish finish give the shades a nice touch. I actually like this finish a lot. I'm a bit bummed about the shades though... I know they're springy and delicate, but they're so not my type of colors. Not all of us wear pastel shades in Spring... so maybe next time add some darker shades to your spring collection, OK, Barry M?

Review: Persunmall.com Lace Dress

Here's another little black dress I got from Persunmall. This one has lace upper part, which is my favorite thing along with studs and leather (fake one if possible). It looked adorable on Persunmall.com website (you can see the listing HERE) so I decided to try it out.
Persunmall Lace Dress

The dress definitely looks like the one listed on the website. Don't even get me started on how many times I've purchased something (usually from Ebay) and the item didn't match the description photos. Ugh! The upper, bust part of the dress looks a bit wonky and I couldn't really fix it. I added a belt, because I look even wider without it. *blushes*
Persunmall Lace Dress

I love the delicate lace on this one! The sleeves are too short to be classified as long sleeves and that bothers me a little, but that's usually the thing with the Asian sized clothing. I chose this dress in size L and I suggest you measure yourself carefully before buying anything. Also - both dresses I got from Persunmall were quite short, so be careful with the dress length measurements as well.

You can buy this lace dress on Persunmall.com for $26.99. Here's the direct link to the listing.

Review: Born Pretty Store 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set

I consider myself to be a nail polish lover rather than a nail art lover. I just think nails are too small and (please don't kill me for saying this) unimportant to spend hours and hours on and then just see all the work being damaged by doing daily chores. I admire the people who do it and I love to look at it though - by it, I mean nail art. Funny coming from a nail polish blogger? Well, that's why you don't see any free hand nail art on my nails...

There WAS a time (although it didn't last long) when I though I should give nail art a try. Just for fun and the fact I like to draw/paint in real life... That was when I got this 15 piece nail art brush set from Born Pretty Store. The set contains brushes in different sizes and shapes and a dotting tool. The bristles of the brushes are firm, but flexible and soft at the same time. They look like quality nail art brushes to me, but they're also the first ones I've actually tried...
Born Pretty Store 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set

I tried to do a couple of different patterns/designs and failed miserably. This just isn't for me. Maybe it's the lack of passion for it... I don't know. I can paint a straight line in real life, but painting on my nails was just too much for me. I did this distressed nail art (introduced to the nail polish world by Chalboard Nails) before giving up completely. It looked good enough for me. =)

First I painted my nails with white nail polish for a base (Color Club French Tip). Then I used Essence nail polishes in Very Berry and Passion for Fashion along with the white fan brush to do the 'colored mess' on my nails.
Born Pretty Store 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set

After it all dried, I used black nail polish for the distressed look and topped it off with Essence Better Than Gel Nails top sealer.
Born Pretty Store 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set

This is how my nails looked at the end. Like it?
Born Pretty Store 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set

I liked the finish look, but I think I'm gonna stick with the regular nail polish. Chips on my nails give me enough hard time even when it's only a layer of regular polish on it. If I spent hours on doing my nails, just to get a chip one hour later... I'd be like:

Brushes are really nice though and it's really a shame not to use them. I already packed them up and moved them into my art brush holder - they'll be great for painting details on my paintings. =)

You can buy this 15 Piece Nail Art Brush Set on Born Pretty Store (here's a direct link) for only $5.00.

Layering with Dance Legend Knight & Top Prismatic

Layering is not something I do often in real life, but I think that's gonna change now. You've already met Dance Legend in Knight and Top Prismatic, but you're gonna see them once more. This time together.
Layering with Dance Legend Knight & Top Prismatic

I used three different lacquers for the nail polish sandwich above. Essence Stairway to Heaven (from the Re-Mix Your Style trend edition) as a base, one coat of Dance Legend Knight (from the Chameleon collection) and one coat of Dance Legend Top Prismatic
Layering with Dance Legend Knight & Top Prismatic

The outcome is pretty badass in my opinion. It's prettier in real life - multichrome and holographic at the same time. Double the awesomeness. Why pick one or another when you can have them both?

Review: Lush Karma Bubble Bar

I don't take baths very often (I prefer showering), but I had to try one of the Lush Bubble Bars for the 'scent and bubbles' experience. I picked Lush's signature scent Karma and gave it a try together with my BF. Too much info? Well, two opinions are better than one, don't you think? =)
''Good Karma is difficult to come by these days, so that’s why we created a bubble bar with our signature pine and patchouli fragrance in a potent swirl of time-warping bubbles so you can bathe in Karma too. Our customers begged us for a bubble bar with the same orange and multi-layered spice fragrance as our perfume. Now you can transport your senses to a middle-eastern spice market from the comforting confines of your tub. Since Karma is a fragrance that keeps on giving, it was the least we could do for our loyal fans.'' (Lush USA)
Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Cocamide DEA, Patchouli Oil, Sweet Orange Oil, Lavandin Oil, Pine Oil, Lemongrass Oil, Elemi Oil, Gardenia Extract, *Citral, *Geraniol, *Citronellol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 15510, Colour 14700.
(*occurs naturally in essential oil)
Lush Karma Bubble Bar

How to use: Crumble under running warm water as you fill the tub. The stronger your water pressure, the more bubbles you will make; we encourage experimentation for best results. To get the most out of your bubble bars, keep them in a cool, dry place.

I used half of the bubble bar for one bath and while the water was running, I crumbled the bar under it. The bubbles formed immediately, water became orange and the patchouli/citrus scent filled the bathroom. It was nice to just lay for a while, relax and enjoy the oriental scent. The bubbles were nice as well and they didn't pop as fast as they do when you use a regular bubble bath (at least the ones I've tried so far). My BF liked it too, although he didn't appreciate the fact that water became orange - he said it looks dirty to him. :) As long as it brings out good karma, it's all good.

I suggest you visit your local Lush store with your significant other and choose a bubble bar together. That way you'll both be able to enjoy it to the fullest. And don't forget to have fun with the bubbles!
Lush Karma Bubble Bar

You can buy Karma Bubble Bar in Lush stores from ~ $8.60/ £3.25/ €4.95. Prices vary from country to country.

Dance Legend - Knight (Chameleon Collection)

I posted the colors from the last few Dance Legend collections in one post, but I'll make an exception for the Chameleon collection. Or else this post would be VERY picture heavy. First on the list is the limited edition shade called Knight
Dance Legend Knight (Chameleon Collection)

Chameleon collection consists of 7 duochrome (or better yet multichrome) shades. One of them is limited edition and that's Knight. Although all the shades are very pretty, Knight happens to be my favorite and suits my style best. The polishes from this collection don't come in the regular Dance Legend bottles, but smaller, mini versions with 6,5 mL of content.
Dance Legend Knight (Chameleon Collection)

Knight turns from brownish bronze to green-ish gold and blue depending on how the light hits the nails.

Dance Legend Knight (Chameleon Collection)

Dance Legend Knight (Chameleon Collection)

What I love the most about Knight (beside its color) is the opacity. It only needs 2 coats for full coverage and that's a big plus for all polish shades and especially for duo-/multichrome ones. My nails are short and quite flat and most of the duochrome polishes don't show themselves in their full glory on me... this one is an exception. The formula was great and easy to work with. Application was OK, although I miss the original Dance Legend flat brush (mini bottles have small round brushes).
Dance Legend Knight (Chameleon Collection)

You can buy Knight (and other shades from the Chameleon collection) on Dance Legend online store for 8.00 USD. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Review: RoseWholesale.com Black PU Jacket

Don't worry, I'm not turning into ''fashion'' blogger, I'm just collection experience. =) I got this PU jacket for review from Rosewholesale.com - an online fashion clothing store. Another store with a lot of items to choose from and affordable prices. I usually buy clothing items on Ebay, where everything seems easier... But let's see how this turned out for me.
Rosewholesale.com Black PU Jacket

I chose this fake leather jacket, because let's face it: I can never have to many black jackets. The jacket was $19.73 (here's the original listing) and shipping costs to Slovenia were $7.46 which is a pretty good price if you ask me. It took more than a month for the package to arrive and I must say the jacket didn't arrive in the best condition. It's been folded a lot and packaged so tightly, it was full of lines and wrinkles. It took me over a week to straighten it out. Quality wise it's not the best I've seen, but worth the price tag. I had to cut off a couple of loose threads and that was it... Other than that it's all cool. The zipper is working and everything is sown together just fine.
Rosewholesale.com Black PU Jacket

There are a lot of different ways you can pay for your items on Rosewholesale.com, but I suggest PayPal, because of their buyer protection program. You know - just in case something goes wrong. Another thing you want to be careful about is picking the size of your clothing items. Measure yourself carefully and pick the right size for you, even if means you'll have to order an XL item! Remember: Asian 'one size fits all' usually means XS-S size. ;)

Swatches & Review: Dance Legend Top Prismatic

I have something special for all the holographic nail polish lovers out there... The new-ish Dance Legend Top Prismatic. It's basically a holographic top coat you can layer over any nail polish you like and change it into a holo shade. Sounds great, right?
Dance Legend Top Prismatic

When you look at the bottle, it doesn't look like anything too special. Just a silvery holographic polish. The difference is, its base is more on the sheer side, but still has a lot of holo shimmer in it.
Dance Legend Top Prismatic

I tried layering Top Prismatic it over some different nail polish shades to see how it looks over certain colors. I used (from top to bottom): P2 Chic, Essence The Boy Next Door, Barry M Gelly Watermelon and Essence You're a Heartbreaker. As you can see, it works just as well over shimmery shades as it does over regular creme polish.

Just to show the holographic shimmer a bit clearly:

I finally got my brown holographic shade (which isn't that easy to find). Essence Spicy with Top Prismatic.

This is how it looks over Catrice Shopping at Bluemingdales.

Over S-he Stylezone 466. The shade which reminds me a lot of Essie Armed and Ready (before the holo goodness).

Over one of my favorite red cremes - Tip Top Red Rendezvous.
Dance Legend Top Prismatic over Tip Top Red Rendezvous

Dance Legend Top Prismatic over Tip Top Red Rendezvous

I used one coat of Dance Legend Top Prismatic over most of the bases above and I can honestly say this is one of my very favorite top coats so far. No more buying all the overpriced holo shades, because you can now make your own. All you need is your existing stash and a bottle of Top Prismatic. The formula is great and thin, which allows you to apply thin layer. You have to be careful with the amount of top coat on your brush, because it does show when one of your nails gets more holo love from the others. Another little downside is that Top Prismatic tends to change the base color a bit, leaving it somewhat more foggy looking. If you don't mind that, then you're gonna love this one just as much as I do. I give it two thumbs up!

You can buy Top Prismatic on Dance Legend online store for 9.00 USD. Check out their Facebook page for more information.
